The Gulfstream’s current ranges between -2 to 5 knots north. This affects slow moving boats like sailboats and trawlers but not motor boats (much) running cruising over 20 knots. Your boats speed will depend on sea conditions and we found cruising at 20 to 25 knots was the norm.

Great vid, we are planing on a cross, are you guys part of a poker run club that makes the cross often ? would definitely love to make the cross with a large group.

Are you located in Jacksonville FL? Also weird question but I have a pair of jet skis and want to do this trip on them but would feel way more comfortable to go with someone who has a boat so we can tag along just for the ride over and possibly back. Never done this before and doing a ton of research on it but that’s my biggest hurtle to overcome. Is this trip once a year for y’all or whenever y’all feel like going over?

I live in Georgia and was wanting To eventually haul my boat down to Fort Lauderdale and make the Crossing stay for about a week.... my question is is there any online groups anyone recommends I can possibly join up with other boaters when they take trips over to Bimini especially doing it for the first time would love to have some other people to go just in case anything may arise .. people who have done it before and know the area And the ends and outs for safe crossing
