Great video thanks for uploading, I wasn't sure where to run the first part of the cable from the camera but the hinge idea with a wire feeder is a great way to not see any cables 👍👍👍👍👍My independent reverse camera monitor fits neatly on the drivers pull down sun visor as it is a very slim screen so when not in use it is out of site maintaining the integrity of the interior design of my bmw 7 series sport. I would like to possibly consider installing the after market HD screen but uk prices are expensive but if I do go down that route your video is a super go to vid👍👍👍😁😁😁

I ran my Rear View Camera cable last weekend. It's very much easier to start running the long cable from the rear seat to the trunk instead of pulling the RCA connector through the very tight space under the back of the rear seat. Absolutely push the modified hanger under the seat from the truck, but then pull the single, small connector from the rear seat to the trunk other than pulling two connectors from the trunk to the rear seat area. Then run the cable up the support arm to the short cable as shown. I did everything else as shown in the video and the install went great. Side note: I bought the rear camera, front camera and CIC upgrade. I don't have a bunch of free time, so I mounted the front camera in my Sport grill three weeks ago and ran the cable to the cabin. I ran the cable for the rear camera last week, but didn't mount the camera. In two weeks I'll swap in the CIC and connect the camera cable, then get the coding done. So far everything is just as BimmerTech advertises: Mostly OEM items, great videos to follow, rapid Customer Service responses. I made a great choice going with BimmerTech; highly recommended.

Do you have a camera for 2014 F31 320d xdrive with big navigation screen? My model is 12/2014 and came without reverse camera. I can buy a wireless transmitter camera to avoid the passing of cables through the car, but unsure where/if my multi-media unit has the place to insert the RGB cables from the camera and the CANBUS cables that will sync with the steering wheel gridlines. Besides the camera installation, what do you need to code with Carly in order to activate the reverse camera on the screen?

Does the camera work with the stock CiC screen or do I need to upgrade to the Hd screen as well?

Hello! No, the screen replacement is not required for the camera to work. Though other configurations of the car are importnant. Go to www.bimmer-tech.net/bmw-rear-view-cameras and type in your VIN. The website will show whether your car is compatible with the rear view cameras we have in our offer.

Just want to check, if the car is a Right Hand Drive am I right in saying you would do the same but on the other side? I.e. the left side?

I have a new-to-me 2010 E60 535i, but mine has the CCC system... does this system work for my car? I have AUX in my car, but the BT and AUX don'rt work because of an SOS system malfunction (damn MOST!)

The whole installation process for E61 is not so different from the E60. We have detailed installation instructions for E61 as well as E60 and our support team can provide you all the installation guidance you may need.

Hello Gavin! No, none of this retrofit activates the Bluetooth. You would need to do the activation separately.

WARNING!!! Guys, at 8:38 DO NOT TRY WHAT BRYAN DID THERE!! If you do YOU WILL DESTROY the head of your RCA. I followed every step in this video. It is soooo fucking difficult. Everything is closed end to end. That section of the car, like Bryan said, is PERMANENTLY SEALED. Do NOT attempt to force the wire that route. Use an alternative access point. My rca was bent out of shape and it just didn’t get through. I had to go buy another RCA cable. And looking at other videos, I found the safest was to route it Below.. Not by the side. From below, there’s a lot more space to get to the back seat. Bryan did a good job BUT do not follow that route. Every other step is good to go.

Our MMI based camera systems in automatic transmission vehicles sense which gear is selected in a CAN signal that runs through the car (by default). They are also compatible with manual transmission vehicles after adjusting a setting in the menu and connecting a pilot wire to one of the reversing light wires (we supply instructions on how to do that.) Our OEM Integration camera systems sense which gear is selected in both automatic and manual transmission vehicles - with no configuration necessary.

Hmm. Thanks for that information. So maybe you can shed some light. I am looking to get almost the same setup on my e60 (Vivid screen with the camera). So will I have to take the head unit out to connect the wires or just the screen? I guess I assumed that the reverse trigger and stearing angle sensor signal on my car (Which is an auto) would not run though the screens power or video signal/connection.

Actually the screen is connected to both power and CAN. So, the screen does get the information about the current gear and steering wheel angle.

Wu James I would disagree many of the ones on eBay are extremely buggy and laggy, not too mention they’re also not compatible with the mask system

use aux jack ? you joking .. car has MOST ... better to find some defice to hook up to fibre LOL ...

Sure there are devices that connect to MOST. But not all BMW's have head units with optical so the only solution that works on almost all cars is AUX as only older E-Series BMW's sometimes don't have AUX ports from the factory. For those BMW's we also offer an AUX retrofit.
