I am a diehard fan of Amitabh bachchan, but I must admit that Dilip Kumar is an institution of acting. The beauty of his acting is: it doesn’t look like acting. He is so so natural.

@7:22 "Ajeeb bevakuf ladki ho!"...look at how his expressions change upon knowing...the affection in his eyes, the voice modulation. This is one gem of scene I keep coming back to, Dilip Kumar is exceptional.

Please don’t compare mr Dilip Kumar with anyone. He is and was the greatest actor while others are all stars including Amitabh so let us end the debate here.

One of all time classics. Unfortunately did not fare well at box office. I have never quite understood why Amitabh worked in so many movies with Smita Patil. Specially as he (AB) was responsible for getting Raj Babbar (Smita's bf then later husband) kicked out of Sharaabi. Suppose relationships are complicated.

Too many emotions by a son for an honest, hard-working, and man of principle. For a man, duty comes first and not the family. Just like a soldier standing at the border kills everyone for the safety of his motherland. Indian movies have too much drama, an overloaded dose of emotions, and unnecessarily longer scenes to bore the audience. The cinema in the true sense doesn't bore people even after 50 years.

Some movies and some scenes leave you soft, broken and loved.

यदि दिलीप साहब एक्टिंग का स्कूल हैं तो बच्चन साहब उस स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल। अमिताभ का रोल दिलीप के सामने काफ़ी हल्का लिखा गया था तो भी वो यूसुफ साहब के सामने कहीं हल्के नहीं पड़े बल्कि बराबरी पे थे। ये मूवी तो दिलीप साहब की मूवी थी जिसमें पहले अमिताभ वाला किरदार राज बब्बर करने वाले थे। दिलीप का रोल इतना स्ट्रांग लिखा गया था कि उन्होने तो पूरी मूवी पे हावी होना ही था। लेकिन ये तो बच्चन साहब ही थे जो negative किरदार होने के बावजूद कहीं भी 19 नहीं पड़े। वर्ना दिलीप साहब वो ऐक्टर हैं जिनके सामने बड़े बड़े पानी भरते नजर आते हैं। जैसे कि फिल्म धर्माधिकारी में तो जितेन्द्र यूसुफ साहब के सामने ऐक्टिंग करना ही भूल गए थे और dialogue ही नही बोल pa रहे थे। इस मूवी में यदि अमिताभ का रोल negaive shade का न होकर दिलीप के बराबरी का लिखा गया होता तो वो यकीनन दिलीप पे भारी पड़ते।

दिलीप कुमार को अभिनय सम्राट कहा जाता है, स्मिता पाटिल को अवश्य ही अभिनय सम्राज्ञी कहा जाना चाहिए।
