For me, this was not the scene that made me tear up... but it's a "Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh" type moment in which the child grows up and the imaginary friend is forgotten. What I like about this scene, though, is that Bing Bong realizes and accepts his fate of fading away into nothingness in the Memory Dump.

Bing Bong realizes his time with Riley is over, but Riley still needs her Joy. So he sacrifices himself to get Riley's Joy back. It's so selfless and beautiful. I bawl my eyes out at this scene every time I see it. Bravo Pixar.

This scene is sad because as you watch, you realize that you too have grown out of your childish innocence as you became an adult. You have some memories of it, but can never have it back. What’s even more crushing is when you look at your own children and realize that they too are slowly going through the same. For those of you with little kids, cherish every moment. They may annoy you and constantly seek your attention, but remember, one day, they won’t.

Bing Bong’s death has happen to be the most saddest death I’ve seen in a Pixar film. He’ll be remembered for his heroic act in allowing Joy to escape, reconcile with Sadness, and help Riley be able to move on past her depression for a better future ahead.

That moment you realize that Bing Bong didn't have joy sing louder because he thought it would affect the wagons' speed, but rather because he didn't want her to hear him jump off. He wanted to make sure she wouldn't notice the sound of him jumping off

This is how intelligent the writer is, it shows that joy is built from sadness and lost which is the altruistic nature of bliss. I’m still crying how brilliant this piece of work was made.

The ultimate sacrifice is knowing you are going to die but giving your life happily to help someone else and greeting death like an old friend in a moment of pure acceptance. It always makes me tear up.

I imagine a sequel where Riley becomes an astronaut and goes to the moon.

Memories and imaginary friends in the memory dump where they will be forgotten forever makes me cry. The feeling of forgotten is truly heartbreaking especially in real life as you grow up. 💔

As heroic as Bing Bong sacrificing himself is, it feels like losing a long-time friend you've known for quite a while. He did decide it was time for Riley to move on, but that doesn't mean I'll never cry at this scene every time.

Not only he sacrificed himself but he made sure joy had to make it and when Joy did make it he goes on to praise her and telling her to take her to the moon. So admirable 😭😭😭

What Bing Bong did was very brave :,)

For Riley to continue growing up and emotionally evolve, she had to let go of her imaginary friend.

The reality of this scene hits hard and makes me so sad now that I have three kids ages 4 and younger. This will happen to them eventually just as it does all of us.

My heart can’t handle this!!! 😭😭😭😭 Besides I think it’s a great how they showed Joy at the edge of the Dump, realising how it feels to lose “something” forever. Earlier when Bing Bong lost his racket (donno how to spell that), Joy just tried to cheer him up, ignoring his feelings. Now she’s in the same situation and gots to understand. (Possibly it’s posted several times, seems that my phone has got some problems)

However, I take solace in the fact and will teach my Son to know that if Bing Bong was real God would watch his level of selflessness and be pleased. This is actually the most saddest Pixar deaths in all time. See how when Bing Bong said: “take her to the moon for me.. ok?”? He was tearing up at the part. And some people who made the movie did too. Because this scene represents that Riley is growing up and starting to forget about her imaginary friend that she had since she was little. Tears me up a lot but, we still have to grow up.

I realized how much better this movie gets when you get older. It was also great when I saw it back when I was 8 but wow…….. I’m glad I revisited now that I’m older.

Bing Bong's death was a pretty emotional scene in Inside Out (2015) and an emotional scene in Pixar feature film history in general. But before he died and disappeared in the Memory Dump he asked Joy to take Riley to the Moon for him and after Bing Bong died, Joy promised Bing Bong she will try to do so; and I think that is going to be the plot of Inside Out 2 coming out in Summer 2024, Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, Disgust and Riley's new emotions trying to have Riley attend a class for space travel after she graduates from high school so she can eventually join a crew of astronauts that are heading to the Moon, the first manned Moon mission since Apollo 17 and to fulfill Bing Bong's dying wish. I am so happy that Inside Out is getting a sequel in Summer 2024. I am looking forward to watching it along with Elemental in Summer 2023. But I am not expecting Wall-E (2008) to get a sequel as it's ending already ended the film on a high note and ended Wall-E and EVE's character arcs with them finally becoming a romantic couple and all humans returning to Earth and restoring all it's nature, animal and plant life and gave all the main characters a happy ending where the film does not need a sequel, at all. But Inside Out does need a sequel and it's coming out in Summer 2024.

This movie made me cry so hard at the islands collapsing, bing bong fading, and joy crying at the memory dump, oh and that scene when Riley cried in front of her parents when she just got home, and this scene. Ah the nostalgia this is why inside out is so loved

This scene reminds me of this Titanic Story I am writing about which is about these two ten year old cousins who sailed on the Titanic and Survived the nightmare of the shipwreck with their own courage and witts and their broken friendship but with great cost obviously and the sinking of the Titanic brings the two cousins relationship more closer and helps them reconcile.

There is a meaning in this scene. Ding dong and other memories die when the fall at the dark place, but joy at the end saved. The meaning of this teach is that many things, moments and people stay to the past, (when you love a person and he leaves you then this person "dies" from our heart and then with the time thinking about him starts to fade and at the end completely disappear. But our joy and happiness came back and we recover ourselves at the end
