What’s happening in this Cloverfield movie clip?
Rob (Michael Stahl-David), Beth and Hud (T.J. Miller) are rescued by an army helicopter. The engine takes off and they witness the creature being bombed. The bombing causes the creature to fall and to presumably die. However, the monster survived and it suddenly lunges out of the smoke, hitting the helicopter and causing it to crash.

What’s the movie Cloverfield about?
Rob (Michael Stahl-David) has taken a job as a vice president for the Slusho company, which necessitates his moving to Tokyo. His brother, Jason (Mike Vogel), and his girlfriend, Lily (Jessica Lucas) throw a surprise going-away party for him. Rob's best friend, Hud (T.J. Miller) is recruited to videotape the event but spends much of his time trying to hit on Marlena (Lizzy Caplan). The party is suddenly stopped when nearby explosions threaten everyone’s security . When the party-goers leave the building, the severed head of the Statue of Liberty is hurled into the street in front of them. Hud records an enormous creature several blocks away collapsing the Woolworth Building. Later, during the city's evacuation, the creature's tail destroys the Brooklyn Bridge, killing Jason and several other people. When Rob receives a message from Beth informing him she’s trapped in her apartment and unable to move, Rob, Hud, Lily, and Marlena start venturing into a city in chaos to rescue Beth.

this was the first camera PoV movie that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Wonderful cinematography, it hit the gas hard and never let up.

That was likely the given flight path until they put enough distance. Remember you got the military dropping all kinds of ordinance trying to kill in line with news and observation helicopters so they were probably coordinating the civilian evac flights as best they so they wouldn’t get caught against the other aircraft. It was just coincidence that Cloverfield was moving in that same path

pretty sure it's a code-name for an air strike used by the united states military. It was used as a last effort to destroy the monster

B-2 bombard failed so their next plan is to bombard every surface of manhattan. that's why they said if you hear siren then you are in the zone.

Hammer Down is a tactical nuke strike. The siren signal at "two minutes" out is a final warning to hunker down and cover your eyes.

There ought to be a "curse word" function on KZfaq where you have the choice of hearing the curse words or not if "bad language" offends you... I personally couldn't care less, my family is so multi-cultural by the time I was 5 I could already swear in 5 languages 😄😄 and when I grew up I turned into a really nice guy that everyone likes... These beeps you hear every time somewhere swears in a movie are annoying as f..k ☹️☹️

I personally have huge respect for anyone that can curse in multiple languages. 🙂 There are so many greater things in life to worry about than swearing. Humanity needs to get its priorities straight.
