I know that Harper was reluctant to come out to her ultra Conservative parents, which is understandable. But she still threw Abby under the bus throughout, and she's basically rewarded for her toxic behaviour at the end.

Win comment right here, it wasn't the "I'm scared to come out" it's the I'm not nice to you while being in the closet that was so upsetting and then she just won in the end it's wrong and uncool. None one Gay, Straight whatever deserves the treatment Abby got by someone she thought she loved enjoy to propose to.

Harper actually is an accurate picture of how hard it is to come out to parents, specially if your parents are both have high expectations to you. As you fully watch the show youll see how harper and her siblings fight for their parents attentions in order to gain affection. As a psychology student, when i first watch this i already notice how cruel the situations to the 3 siblings since, they grow up fighting to gain love with alots of fear and somehow anxiety on what will happen next if they didnt get some affection from their parents... just like sloane, she lose her place to her parents so even though her husband keep cheating on her she choose to keep him so she can gain her parents affection back while jane, since she always felt left out she became a trying hard person doing and learning everything in order to gain their parents affection. Imagine this, your a great artist and your parents said they love you if you become a doctor. The balance of the path become cruel since sacrifice and lost are included in either side.

I will forever hate Harper. I was “the roommate” for years and I get belittled and minimized. The fact that she lied about Abby over and over again makes my heart ache. Now I’m so happy I have a wife that’s proudly out to her family and I don’t have to hide.

@@lysapenguinI was Abby. I had to be the "friendly girl next door". Wen my ex-girlfriend finally came out, it wasn't a movie. They shipped her to the other side of the country and we never spoke again. I tell myself that she lost her phone (and didn't block me or change her number so I couldn't call her) and she couldn't call me becoz she didn't memorize mine (like I did hers) but I know the truth she never told me. Losing your family is hard. They are the people you've loved since the day u were born. My pressuring her to tell them: to acknowledge her truth (and let's be honest) to acknowledge me is y she lost them. I forgive her. I don't forgive myself.

Kristen really made me a fan with this movie. I’ve never found her particularly likable until this movie. She was amazing in this role

She is an absolute asshole for doing that. Coming out is hard. There were tears wen I did (and not just mine) and there are relatives that still don't speak to me. And most the ones that do, only do so becoz I'm bisexual. I know that becoz fences got mended once I proved myself a breeder by having a child. It's half acceptance. They love the straight part and it allows them to ignore the gay part. That said, I say most becoz my generation in tge family think it's awesome that their cousin has a girlfriend. Yeah, I'm surrounded by boys.

What Harper did to Riley is terrible, but Sloane did to Harper was uncalled for. I don’t care if Harper was hiding her sexuality from her parents, even what Harper to Riley as Sloane still has no right and place to do that.

I'm the Jane of my family. But I don't have the patience and forgiveness that she has and I cut my family off nearly a decade ago lol. I'd rather be alone than have to deal with people like that. It's too hurtful.
