What’s the movie Charlie St. Cloud about?
Adored by his single mother (Kim Basinger from The Natural) and his little brother Sam (Charlie Tahan), Charlie St. Cloud (Zac Efron from Neighbors and High School Musical) is an accomplished sailor and college-bound senior with a bright future ahead of him. When Sam dies in a terrible accident, Charlie's dreams die with him. But, so strong is the brothers' bond that, in the hour before each sunset, Charlie and Sam meet to play catch. The return of a former classmate (Amanda Crew from Sex Drive) leads Charlie to a difficult choice: remain stuck in the past, or let love lead him to the future.

Well unfortunately, I believe he lost his motivation because it seemed no matter what route in acting he was taking, people were still reducing him to that pretty boy/Disney image. I really like his comedic performances and I think he did really well in that Ted Bundy movie. People started taking him a little bit more serious after that movie. I think there was a lot of pressure on him to maintain that sex symbol status, and it unfortunately was his downfall. It’s hard to balance that and break away from that stigma. Like Robert Pattinson for example. It really wasn’t until Good times and now Batman that people don’t see him as the “Sparkly vampire hottie”. Zac will have to do something like Rob did, to completely change peoples perspective of him.
