Eating balut is tricky. It doesn't really taste that weird but the texture is what gets you. Specially when you imagine a duck chick while eating it lol. Still one of my favorites tho. Also Mikha's face while eating gets me everytime hahahha

Even though Mikha grew up in the Philippines, her 1st language is English because she was brought up by her parents like that. Aiah speaks a lot of English too because her Tagalog is not very good. Her 1st language is Bisaya (a different dialect cause she grew up in Cebu), 2nd is English.

"Balut" is boiled incubated duck egg... While "Itik" is native duck (the one that lays the eggs - which becomes balut after cooking/boiling). 😅

If you get the chance to eat a balut, first thing you do is not mind the look of it. It is intimidating even for some of the locals 😂 but the taste is good. Its like a meatier boiled egg with other savory taste. Tldr: doesnt look good. But taste hella good.

Easiest way to eat balut is eating it in the dark. It's the appearance that gets you but once you taste it, its not that bad.

Itik is duck, balut is duck egg, "po" is usually used at the end of the sentence to show respect.
