one awesome bit of trivia I can mention is that the composer of Bio Freaks, which btw is an awesome soundtrack that feels more like a hard core metal version of KI's music which was more like upbeat metal & techno, is a man named Aubrey Hodges who also provided the music to PSX Doom, PSX Final Doom, Doom 64, Quake 64, Quake II on the N64, Robotron X, NFL Blitz, and many other games.

I actually purchased a copy of the soundtrack from him to use in this video for better audio. Some of those tracks are really iconic of the era.

I remember hearing this game get mentioned in a video i was watching (I cant remember what that video was about anymore, just the line: "This game is Bio-Freaks, but i bet you didn't know about this game until I told you so" or something to that effect) and I searched it up and it seemed interesting. A week later, I had forgotten about it, but then had the sudden urge to look it up again and try finding it, but i was out of luck. Thanks KZfaq for recommending me this one year old video to remind me.

Bio FREAKS alongside Smash Bros were the N64 fighters I grew up with. Bio FREAKS did grow on me despite it not nearly being as good as MK because it has some pretty neat ideas and a pretty nifty cast Something I found recently from the Cutting Room Floor wiki is that Clonus is fully playable. The N64 version has a hidden cheat feature and one of them lets you play as Clonus, but instead having a slot on the character select screen, simply any character you choose, you're simply choosing Clonus' form. Sadly though, its bio and "ending" aren't present when you beat the game with it, you instead simply get the mimicked form's ending.

I can honestly see this as a late 90's style anime just with a bad ass soundtrack. in either case, I've always loved this game despite it's issues. my most favorite character & character theme is Purge due to his helicopter head & flamethrower claws plus his theme just screams KI Cinder, who is also my most favorite character, character theme, and best character of KI1. I honestly wouldn't mind a new game made now a days, and I'd be down for an adaptation that just goes for it's hard core action like Crank or Death Race.

@@MinisterWighty I've actually beaten KI1 on both arcade & SNES as Cinder on the hardest difficulty without dying once. he truly is KI's best and most broken character. ever since I was a kid, my favorite fighting games were Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Primal Rage, & Bio Freaks.

Bio Freaks was certainly a product of its time. I remember kid me looking at an ad/detailed preview of the game, thinking the premise and character designs were unique and fascinating, even though i knew itd be jank lol Jank aside, i appreciate the amount of ambition of trying to create a different fighting game experience. The lore sounds very modern and something id love today. Also, Ssapo is god.

These are the exact sorts of reasons I love looking back on and sharing stuff about games like this. Developers put a lot into a concept that might fail, but there's still fascinating little nuggets to be enjoyed even if tie game isn't the most fun thing in the world to play.

Holy Shit!? This Is A Blast From The Past For Me! Cause I Had This Game As A Kid!, Me & My Older Sister Played This All The Time When We Were Kids. Played It So Much The Disc Didn't Work Anymore, True Story!. I Had This When I Was Around 4/5yrs Old(2001/2002) Yes My Parents Let Me Play Violent Video Games As Kid & They Didn't Really Give A Shit Hell I Got To Watch South Park When I Was 4
