Hmm. On endosymbiosis, if the cell needs mitochondria to function, how was there a functioning cell to begin with to absorb "some organism" to provide the energy it already needed? How would this "some organism" know that it, the absorbing cell, needed energy to operate? How would it even start to know how to provide and transfer this energy to the just-right places in the cell? That just sounds too convenient to be even considered a rational hypothesis. It sounds more like masterful engineering, lol. Hey, I appreciate your video. It's the first one I've looked at. Can't wait to continue seeing the rest, and I appreciate your pace while teaching this.

Scientist just be making stuff up when they’re bored honestly. It’s just a theory. And even now researchers are looking into that theory and they’re trying to consider other options but I understand what you’re trying to say. Here’s a quick read on the theory in general: bio.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Microbiology/Microbiology_(Kaiser)/Unit_4%3A_Eukaryotic_Microorganisms_and_Viruses/07%3A_The_Eukaryotic_Cell/7.8%3A_The_Endosymbiotic_Theory

@@bftinylectures4362 I read the article and it's a read that raises many "how-so" questions. I see it laced with "probably was" and "may have" speculations followed with attempts to find similarities for evidence. I'm not sure you could even call that low confidence science. There's a debate going on on KZfaq between Dr James Tour and professor Dave Farina on whether or not life could have originated by natural processes alone or whether an intervening intelligence would have been necessary. Instead of just believing stories or being influenced by heated biases, I'm looking to find which is the more plausible cause. So far it's not looking good for the natural only conclusion.
