Unless hepatocytes are dysfunctional in their secretion of conjugated bilirubin into the gall bladder (such as in hepatitis) then yes we can have a rise in conjugated bilirubin also,but if the dysfunction is only in glucoronidation (such as in Gilbert syndrome or crigler najjar syndrome) but can still secrete properly into gall bladder then conjugated bilirubin levels will be normal.
