Every morning at 6am while it’s still cool out I set it to turn on at 70 with exchange out. When I get home from work as soon as the temp outside starts to drop I bring the air in and by sundown the room matches the temp outside. If it stays warm like on those 95+ nights it stays on with out settings and let it shut off when it reaches 70. I’m on a second floor apartment. So placing anything would require a very long ladder. This is the only thing closest to an AC. It really does pull the hot air out. The display will tell you the temp outside and if you go outside you will feel the difference. My room is naturally always 5 degrees higher then the outside. So if it was hot. I dreaded going to my room.

A KZfaqr named "Woopnik" explained it. You just have to pull (pry) up on the opening and resist the feeling that you're going to break it. He said it will click and then open. Not very intuitive and the instructions just say open it.

How do you keep the temperature lower?? I've put it on °70 but it keeps going back to °84 in a matter of seconds?? I have it on auto by the way.

Jahaira Mejia This is a fan. Not an air conditioner so it will only get as cool as the outside conditions and it will take some time.

In the case you described, 84 is the current room temperature. If you have "auto on" engaged, the fan will turn off by itself once the room temperature falls below the 70 that you set. It would turn on by itself once the room temperature is 70+. The feature is nice in theory, but not in practice. In reality my fan turns off/on at that threshold temperature several times until the room temperature is at least 1 degree away from my setting. In other words, the thermocouple might vary between 69/70 several times, causing the fan to cycle off/on.
