The name is interesting since in Estonian ´tere´ means hello. Was that intentional?

It was not, but that's pretty interesting nonetheless. I originally got the name from a Maori word that translates to speed in english, and I thought it would fit well since Tere is supposed to be very fast and agile. A lot of the earlier Bionicle sets also derived their names from Maori, so that's why I used that language to find Tere's name.
