I can just imagine a Bohrok flipped over, wailing frantically, and calling "MEDIC! MEDIC!" like a TF2 player against a Pyro-only team, only for these to come in and do the job....with dubious results

It's rather funny that neck-articulation started with these unassuming small sets.

As a designer I would say these are pretty well designed Bionicles.

Nuhvok-Va is a cutie. Just look at those oversized claws!

They are just so cute :3 and you can fix the problem with the falling of krana by putting a rubberband around the kranaplate. There is a little slip where you can fix it =)

You can use the extended waist of the gahlok va to spin its legs like a propeller (good for swimming) if you point the feet out all the way to the sides

I never had any of the Bohrok when I was a kid. I was super disappointed, but about a year or two ago, I went to a local toy store (which is now in a different location) and bought myself a Lehvak and a Pahrak. They were packaged like so: completely disassembled, with the instruction manual, the randomized Krana, and a fully-assembled corresponding Bohrok Va included with each, but minus the unpowered Krana that came with them. I have since disassembled the Bohrok Va, and now display the Bohrok hanging upside-down in their containers, like they're meant to be displayed.

I wish I had 8552: Lehvak Va. He looks cool.

Also, the introduction of teal on the green one would've been a very welcome addition. Perhaps on the machetes and head crest. The machetes could also be replaced with green minifig whip pieces to act as vine- lashes that could double as escape ropes or to swing from tree to tree on.

Honestly, now that I take another look at these little cuties, I wish that I had them all! I would also rebuild them and give them more articulation, to be honest.

You can make it so that Nuhvok Va and Lehvak Va have neck articulation - the 2006 Toa Inika had ball pieces in their neck construction, with two sides both flat. As such, swapping out the 2001 ball for a 2006 ball would allow the head to be on a balljoint without upsetting the shield's connection to the hand piece, though it would only allow for turning instead of full balljoint range.

the black bohrok va looks like he wants to give you a hug, these guys are so cute!

I really like how all of them are build slightly differently so they don't seem like complete clones of each other. I also don't like the asymmetrical head of the green one.

The thing I like about Pahrak Va is that its shield design kinda gives more expression compared to the rest. All the other Bohrok Va have a more rounded design on their shields while this one has those cut corners which sort of makes its eyes look more "angry"

To me the claw on lehvak va's head looks makes him look shady, like he got on the wrong side of a toa's sword!

I always thought that the Bohrok Va were the Turaga but mutated by the Bohrok Swarm to serve them. Sort of acting as a small imaginary homage to Kerrigan and The Zerg from the Starcraft series.

Actually, the first set to have neck articulation was Muaka and Kane-Ra. The accordion-style way their necks are made lets their heads turn side to side just a tiny bit. By the way, why haven't you reviewed the 01 rahi?

The bohrok va are, and have been some of my favorite sets for a long time, and my favorite for such a small set, you hit the nail on the head with this review, highlighting a few of the issues I too noticed with them, Nuhvok va being my favorite of the bunch because he's freaking adorible, and I too wish that Tahnok va had used maybe an orange staff, I would have to say Gahlok might be my least favorite because of the use of that hook which seems very out of place, I wish she at least held it in a hand though, but I digress, anyway, I think the most important thing to me about these sets are the fact they have official rahi combinations like the hapaka, pokawi (though it should have used the katana as a beak >_

Here’s how I imagine how each of the Va acts Tahnok: Wants to be in control, basically that one kid who said “1 2 3 that’s enough for me” Pahrak: Doesn’t care, probably baked half the time Nuhvok: Little guy in a big world and Colon D Lehvak: confident and adventurous one, always gets the others in trouble Kohrok: Thinks he’s dark and mysterious, but everyone knows it’s secrets Gahlok: Stuck up crybaby, always gets what it wants

The kohrak va has "primary" (white) neck and arms instead or the "secondary" color that all other bohrok va have, and instead the backplate is the "secondary" color (light gray)

I've had this idea concept for a pair of friendly/rouge bohrok and bohrok va they would be a little different i.e solid colored eyes and off colored parts and instead of going against the toa they help them

I know why Kohrak Va and Nuhvok Va have differents colors of backpack... Is because the colors of the krana. In Kohrak Va is white, and in Nuhvok Va is black... What if the backpacks are of the same colors? They will be really really bad :) I am not trying to be an asshole, only to inform ^_^
