Will finally give this series a go based on this comment. Currently the best music/OST of any game I have heard is Lunar II Eternal Blue for Sega CD, happens to also be my fave game ever as well. It's going to be hard to top the Lunar ( Sega CD version ) Series

in my opinion though, the second game is easily the BEST installment of the trilogy.

I have to say, so far I've only watched half of your review to avoid spoilers for Ar Tonelico 2 which I'm planning to play and I loved your review! I appreciate the fact you go in-depth explaining some things a quick review wouldn't and also giving your opinion on each thing and mechanic the game gives us. I hope to see more stuff from you in the near future! Keep it up!

I find it funny that you aren't the biggest fan of Croix as a protagonist when I find him to the best protagonist of the entire Ar Tonelico series by far. His snark puts him leagues above Aoto and Lyner in my eyes. In general, I find Ar Tonelico II the best game in the series easy, especially compared to Qoga.

+Xylon that is totally ok nothing wrong with liking him the best but i was just not a fan. still a pretty good game but i just think that the first had it down

BioPhoenix To me, he felt like a puppet before. But I later noticed his character was very different than the other 2 protagonists. While Lyner went from a reckless idiot to a more obedient person. While Croix went from a puppet to someone who questions the world around him more. His character build is a lot more unique than Lyner's or Aoto's. (Even though Aoto evolved from a huge dick to less of a dick.)

From what I've heard about the Ar II glitch, it's because an attack was removed from the game, but they didn't remove it from the boss's routine. I would really like to give this series another try, because the music is so amazing.

BawesomeBurf that is so weird. either way fantastic OST for sure

+BawesomeBurf I believe what actually happened was that the localisation did not properly account for the amount of memory the game required during that particular animation, since the localisation was not very efficient (english text overlaying the original japanese for instance means twice the load) The end result is the game would crash during certain animations, that bosses animation always crashes ofc.
@aquagondrag
@aquagondrag 8 жыл бұрын
+Gigacorona Nope. That particular attack had its code removed from the game. I can confidently say this due to having worked as translator and overseer of the relocalization project for it: we compared the game's ISO prior to having the Raki fix patch applied and afterwards, and we got the unpleasant surprise that in the original retail ISO, the block code corresponding to that particular skill was completely replaced with zeroes, the ultimate consequence being that the game tries to call up an attack that doesn't exist, and thus the game shoots out an illegal operation error and crashes. Here's an image of the comparison: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19330332/AT2/rakifix.jpg

***** Thanks for clearing that up! Never made it that far in the game myself, but its nice to hear from someone that actually was involved with the project.

Hey, don't put all the blame on Lyner for that crash, he was attacked by an annoying dragon! very nice review though, I'm glad I got a chance to play it when I was younger because my parents happened to have it.

nice review man...the music sound amaZing. I looked into the limited edition for the first game soundtrack that you previewed in the review but it only includes an art book...not sure where else you can listen to the soundtrack. :( Also what was the name of that song it was fantastic (first game )

BioPhoenix Well i got into rpgs very late, even though i hae been a gamer most of my life. When i finally got into rpgs it was just about at the end of the ps2, gamecube, and xbox lifespan. And a lot of my local gamestops didnt sell most of the rpgs i was just finding out about online. So i started just buying online from amazon and i didnt really have enough money to buy them new so i buy most of my games used. To make a long story short i just buy back ups of my games mainly rgs, and certain rare games, and im buying them used based on the sellers definition of what a used very good game is supposed to look like. Mana khemia 2 by gust for the ps2, has 2 story modes, a new game plus, 10 different endings and a bonus dungeon. So it only made sense for me to buy 2 of that game .
@BioPhoenixReviews

that makes sens. well i can understand that i got into getting a PS2 when the PS3 was on the way but i was able to get some games bran new but some where vary hard to come by but i did manage to get alot of the ones i was interested in and enjoyed them vary much so

BioPhoenix yeah a lot of the atlus games i were able to get new, and i got most of my nis america games and gust games in used very good to like new condition. But stuff like the suikoden games and the first 2 shadow hearts games, the latest one is easy to find at a affordable new price. But the dot hack games. New? Forget about it. At least online anyway which is where i shop.And afte researching my games especially the rpgs and reading a lot of game reviews, and trying to get a feel from the review how long the game is and how many endings the game has, and if it has a new game plus or not. After all of that i would rather just try to get 2 copies of used good or used to very good copies, Than to try to buy it new, especially online. It took me 5 copies of 40 plus dollar copies of baldurs gate 2 to finally get the copy i was satisfied with. And yeah i spent a lot of money on the same game. But at the end of the day i have plenty of back ups. And you factor in the fact that game is almost only available online for a ton of money, and the fact that new ps2 games arent being made anymore. I think its worth it. After all the 6th generation is the best ever. In my opinion anyway. I have collection videos on my channel, and i do lets plays, come check me out or not.

funny i was able to get .hack vol 2 new but the other took me abit of time. same with shadow hearts wish is one of my all time favorites. and its understandable stuff and i agree that the 6th gen was one of the best.also i am sub to your channel but i have not seen any of your videos on my news feed wish is weird but i will look at them so its no problem

I wish gust would re release on ps4 the whole collection. Maybe few graphical upgrades, I have all the ar tonelico games, and they are extremely fun. Much better than atelier series imo.

So I'm playing through the first ar tonelico right now for the first time. And having not played melody of metafalica in years I was wondering the differences between the games. I have to say. Combat in melody of Elemia is a snoooooooze fest. I just want to get the game over with and hop back into the second game.
