The animation viewer really helps with some of the attacks. I'm still absolutely blown away with the animation quality of LWs moveset, half of them have no right being so fluid considering how fast they happen

The PTSD inducing boss is finally getting an analysis. He didn’t even fight him and ripped the animations so he didn’t have to go through the pain.

This game came out in 2007 ffs. My god the attention to detail is astonishing.

This fight is so fast-paced and stressful that I never even noticed these things; square did a crazy good job with LW's moveset

Personally, I consider the “Data Blocks” to be crystals or gems. There’s nothing in Terra’s BBS moveset or character arc that’s remotely related to computer data. Crystals at least would be consistent with Terra’s earth theme

Anybody else notice Lingering Wills Keyblade formchanges either parallel or precede for what Keyblade changes Sora can use in KH3?

Just a fun fact, the move where he dashes back and forth with the keyblade looks hella similar to Sora’s rising sun reaction command so I always called it that lmao

At last, the Lingering Will. Good show, my dood. I appreciate you and the crew hard work getting this footage without succumbing to the PTSD of just looking at him from the wrong side of the fence.

They had the keyblade transformations to such a precise and varied degree all the way back in 2FM, damn. So little has changed from that to formchanges, they just needed to stop hiding it behind particle effects.

the magnet to draw you in only happens in last phase when he DMs if you dont loop his DM he can do attacks with magic.

I knew about his smooth animations and most of his moves but I did NOT know about his magnet and blizzard casts. This is the first time I ever seen those.

This is my favorite kingdom hearts super bosses, the setting, music and the fight are nearly perfect.

His punching attack is very similar to the dark impulse command style finisher, just switching darkness for "data" effects.

The Horsemen of the apocalypse Fury version of KH, LW is one of my favorite/most stressful boss to battle and I'm glad u made a breakdown about it

Very great analysis Bio. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think you missed the attack where the Lingering Will dissappears to summon drone like objects made of light to shoot at Sora. Also, I like to think the beginning keyblade combo during Lingering Will's desperate move is similar to Terra's Ars Solum attack in BBS.

I've never seen him use the Magnet or Blizzard casts in all the times I've fought him.

I'm always gonna be annoyed Terra never got any of these as moves in BBS or as part of a moveset in KH3 for Terranort. I know its hard work, but Aqua and Terra shoulda got SOMETHING new. I woulda been happy if Aqua just did a Ghost Drive move and Terranort got his Dark Impulse stuff back.

Regarding Terra's Glider attack, it *is* possible for him to cast Blizzaga at high health; it happened to me once. I sadly don't have any video evidence (I wasn't recording at the time), but it is possible. It just involves a LOT of bad luck.

Theory time. I've been noticing that data cubes are really prevalent, combining that with Sora's first words in the series. What if, Kingdom Hearts is actually a game in universe. Think about it, Verum Rex is a video game in universe, but Yozora is as real as Sora is. There are many times where data cubes appear outside of simulations. And even Sora himself is questioning if everything he knows is real.

i think i might know how the rare attacks might get triggered but im not 100%sure. when the fight starts lingering will wont use his full moveset instead he only uses a few of the attacks that were selected at random when the fight starts. the lower is hp is the more attacks he unlocks. i think the rare attacks might trigger if he unlocks the rider for example at around 50% hp. thats my theory anyways i could be wrong

This and Yozora are my current favorites with 2fm data roxas and remind xion being close. So far yozora is the only one i have had difficulty getting a no hit run mostly due to how much tighter and subtle the openings are compared to lingering will's awkward moments of standing still indicating an opening.

Yo, imagine being so pissed that your armor is possessed by that sheer rage alone and turns into a killing machine. Spoilers, it's not even possessed by his heart, because in KH3 we see that it's with Ansem SoD as his Heartless Stand thing. He was just that angry when the Lingering Will was born.

i think there was an attack where he dashes at you then cancel the dash with a combo attack that kinda looks like ars solum.

The three airstikes are not only the only the only attack where he does not transform his keyblade but also the only one that sora can actually perform himself. I think the reactioncommand was called rising sun, but not entirely sure.

Actually, thank you my friend. I’m trying to write an Avengers Infinity War crossover with KH3 and I really needed some attacks for Terra.

This is what would look like inside Terra’s heart during the KH3 Terranort fight: LW is diving into Terra’s Station of Awakening on the Keyblade Glider. LW fights Terra who is wielding No Name and uses Terranort’s moveset with some of his other commands. LW might fight the way in BBS. Then, LW would face 1000 heartless but with his KH2 moveset. The Guardian appears in the form of DDD second phase with Terra trapped inside. LW would use his desperation move to easily defeat it. Finally, Terra and the Gaurdian are in a Trinity position. LW is about to use his Ultima Cannon to destroy them but flashes to Ven and Aqua as well as seeing a vision of Riku as his successor which made him change his mind. LW decided that saving and reuniting with his friends instead of destroying his possessed self as a real way to set things right. LW heads towards Terra and the Guardian and all three performed Trinity which signals Terra’s return.

I'm doing my first playthrough of the Kingdom Hearts games since I was always an Xbox boy, 100%ing each game before moving on to the next. As much as I struggled with Lingering Will, I'd take this fight 10 times over before I'd fight the z Mysterious Figure as Terra again. Also, the music is fantastic. I'm so glad these games are finally on Xbox, they are so much fun and it feels like I'm on a grand adventure

Some of his form changes are cool. Specially the one where it splits into 2 ( the blade looking like Axe ) and then merges again as spear. Some others looks like... they are stretching it... heh. Seriously the bow just feels weird. Also the cannon.

To be honest, I don't like this fight so much, I think it limits our resources a lot, we end up having to repeat the same thing without varying the techniques, he doesn't have very consistent openings and has attacks that you really need luck to not to be caught, when I finish this fight I don't feel like playing it again, it ends being more frustrating than fun, but this soundtrack is my favorite of a boss fight, and I'm fascinated with the animations.

Honestly this was your worst breakdown so far in my opinion. I like it better when you use just gameplay footage, even if it takes months to get the footage. Also you didn’t mention what’s able to block or not. Sorry but this was not a good one in my opinion man
