Hope these boys come right. Reminds me of myself i was a lost soul a didn't who I was at 15. I lived on the street and stole food from cafes. Random acts of kindness restores your faith in human nature and keeps you going. I was homeless too as a female. I dont know about other countries people here look down on homeless, they think if you're homeless it's always your fault and you are on drugs. It's one of the loneliest feelings when you need help and people would rather walk past you like you don't exist

The homeless people all seem very friendly. Most of the homeless people in my area would be angry at you if you woke them up. They also would be very suspicious and wary about someone videoing them. These homeless seems very cordial

a lot are. i used to work around the "poor" neighbourhood" in our city. used to give change to homeless but now i don't. rare times i give something it's food. there are very hardworking ones but you'll never see them sitting around so it's hard to help them out.

Most of them are lazy and on drugs. Had two different homeless people work for me at a burger joint. I offered them $15hr and up to 70hrs a week if they wanted it. They called in sick all the time, Half ass worked while they were there, come to work messed up or drunk, act like they were sick and leave early then I would see them a couple of hours later drinking and panhandling, and didn’t appreciate the job in any way. This was two different individuals I offered a job to help them. I tried so many times to help them but eventually had to let them go. So don’t even begin to act like they are all just down on their luck. Some want to be this way.

Life in poverty gives them a reason to be sad and helpless and they usually try to ease that pain with drugs, then the negative thinking and drugs become an everyday cycle, and it's fucking hard to come out of it. Nobody wants a wasted life, most of the times the problems in our life and in our head control us, life becomes an illusion of unending hardships, which seems impossible to come out from. you might think that what you're doing is the best and nothing can be done more, but this kind of people need more than HELP.

You can do a lot more from the kindness of your heart than money could ever do! I used to leave the bars drunk because I was tired of the fake reality people were living in. Homeless people right out side the bars and no one cared. I started sitting with them and talking to them. I was only asked maybe two times for money. Most of them just want some one to talk to, someone to show they care, empathize with them and understand the hardship they have faced. When they don’t feel so alone they begin to feel more empowered over their own lives. “You help someone up who has Fallen and the next day they do the same.” Sooner or later we are all helping each other in one way or another.

@@joeyayala6732 great point! I try to do this today where I try to encourage the ones asking for money, I know what they need it for, I can see it on their faces, in their eyes, on their bodies. They're sick, withdrawling. If I can I help them with a few bucks but more so I tell them about the clinics down the road that they can utilize, that there are govt grants they offer for treatment for methadone. I take my experience with overcoming addiction but I feel like I am always in a rush. I am going to remember your point and apply it next time and not be so hurried.

@TheF2S Sometimes its drugs, sometimes its mental illness, and sometimes its because they ran away from home because they were being physically or sexually abused. Some kids end up on the street because their parent died and there was no one else there to support and guide them. Its foolish for you to think you know these kids' story.
