Good job, but what do you do if you later want a sling...why didn't you move the ral back a little and drill two holes, so now you could have the rail and the sling mount.

Is the bottom of the rail curved to fit the stock better or is it flat?

G Lewis most tails are slightly curved but the odds of matching the bottom of your stock exactly are not great. I wouldn’t worry about it.
