Fun fact: in the first movie they were originally gonna show us the monster but they cut it because the monster looks ridiculous The monster was described as like man with snake like body and with horrifying baby face The director of the first movie laughed at the design so they decided to not show the monster otherwise the movie wouldn’t be scary, and I’m glad they cut it out

There isn't one monster, there are many. Admittedly yeah the concepts they made into 3d models were awful (you can look them up online) but the canon versions which are shown in the images the mad guy draws are legit terrifying.

I don't even watch the trailers anymore I just click near the end to see when movies release. The people that cut the trailors are lazy and do a terrible job by telling the entire story in the alotted time.
