Hi Richard that was fantastic vlog all those Buzzards in one place, I’ve never seen so many in place the footage you got was truly remarkable, they are a fabulous bird to watch 23 Buzzards in one place wow, I know i said it earlier but that footage was amazing and photos were truly stunning, eight hours in the hide has really paid off well done for producing a fantastic video and thank you for sharing it with us truly amazing Richard.all the best Martyn p.s can’t wait for the review of R3 😀

Hi Martyn, It really was amazing to see so many in such concentration, I log and study my local population and wonder how many have migrated here from overseas! Hardcore 8 hours in the hide but it was totally worth it, and it went quickly as I was certainly keeping myself busy, lol... Yep, it's on its way.... looking forward to the new tech! Cheers R 👍

But needless to say, it could have been fantastic to see if would have chance to show what was going out. So another 2nd gopro like camera to show out would be amazing to tell the story. I also appreciate, without seeing but listening through your words, a kind of a mysterious atmosphere behind and was increasing the excitement. My favourate is 15:52 dual head. Love the sequence of filming , love how the female hunches her wings out to cover the food she’s eating!! I once saw a Morph buzzard feeding on worms in a field again at that time didn’t realise they eat worms !! Again great photo captures!! Job done !! great feeling I bet , knowing you went out to get those shots & you got them in the bag ! Even though your feet felt like ice cubes 🧊!! Cheers again! Craig

Cheers Craig, it was incredible to see so many and at such close range! I learnt a lot about Buzzard behavior that day, which is always a massive bonus, just to sit and watch things unfold in front of you is superb. Earth worms make up a great deal of their diet in the winter, but I think the pigeon went down a treat! It was such a great day, I'm probably heading back there with the R3 to put it through its initial test! Yep, cold feet, totally worth it..😂👍

Thanks Doug it's my pleasure and glad you enjoyed it. Yep, I was a little hungry but after a while and after all the action I totally forgot about it! It really did produce some fine images and the video was really quite useable which was nice, I don't blame her! Cheers R 👍😀

Great video Richard, extremely jealous. I had a couple of buzzards in the field behind me so have set up a hide and road kill...they've not been seen since!😂 If you could use the packaging from your new kit to box a couple up and post them to Nottinghamshire that would be great. All the best mate👍

Thanks Scott, nightmare!! That's always the way isn't it, frustrating. I am thinking of heading back there next week to try out the new kit, going to find some roadkill and leave it out for them, with that pigeon there made all the difference. I'll do my best mate, not sure it will work, lol... All the best mate. Need to check out the green hair vlog, lol.. Cheers R 👍😂

Hi Richard, Great video and some absolutely cracking shots. Have you seen the USB handwarmers you can buy on Amazon? My wife bought me a couple for Christmas and they're fantastic. I stick them in my pockets and they last for a good 8hrs, great for warming your hands up between shots. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with the R3.

Hi Steve, thanks very much it was a superb day, albeit a little on the cold side! I'll look into them, I should of got some of the gel ones and put them in my wellies but totally forgot! Bad move... Still the USB ones sounds great and a good recycle option! Thanks, hopefully my next vlog on the R3 coming soon. Cheers R 👍

Sorry to say, but these are not Buzzards, otherwise known as Vultures. Those are Hawks, I'm sure. Do the English call Hawks Buzzard ? LarryMac
@RichardBirchett
@RichardBirchett 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Larry, we call them Buzzards as they are the Buteo race, the only Hawks we have in the UK are SparrowHawk and Goshawk. The word buteo is Latin for a buzzard and it should not be confused with the Turkey vulture, which is sometimes called a buzzard in American English. The Buteo species of Eurasia and Africa are usually commonly referred to as "buzzards" while those in the Americas are called hawks. Hope that helps all the best R 👍
