BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY in Northern Norway

I am on an wildlife adventure along the coast of Norway. The island I arrived on has a great colony of puffins, white tailed eagle and ealge owls roam the air. There are many shorebirds here for bird photography, arctic terns, sea gulls of all sorts, waders and also some otters. This is a spectacular location for WILDLIFE and LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY.

This is another video about my exploration of the island of (mostly) Norway: The Wild North COASTLINES. On this journey we will travel to different island communities and see which animals we can find, learn about them and put attention to species that are threatened in their habitat and way of life. Today you will see Arctic Terns, Eagle Owls and Puffins.

Wow, what a wonderful sky you got at the end. Nature photography is not only wildlife, for me at least, so when I can I enjoy taking landscape pictures as well. Fantastic the puffins. I managed to photograph them only once when I went in Scontland. Great video Gunnar.

I think you’re totally right. All these videos would not make sense without material of the surroundings/landscapes we are in. I mostly do Timelapses, but hopefully one day I get the patience to make some better landscape photos again :)

Hi! I really enjoy your content. What is you experience in AF on the 200-500 on Z6? Looking at your videos seems pretty good.

I would not count on it. I often manual focus with the Z6. This will probably change with newer models. Thanks for the comment, cheers! :)

Hey Gunnar, ich nehme an, du hast das 200-500 mit dem 1.4tc genutzt? Zweite Frage, du da ja relativ häufig campst: brauchst du dafür eine Genehmigung? Und entschuldige eine dritte Frage: ist das die BP 90 Schnellwechselplatte von Sirui? Ich suche schon länger etwas kompatibles, um mein Nikon 200-500 ordentlich auf das Stativ zu bekommen. Großartiges Video, ich entdecke in dir so viele Punkte, in denen wir uns ähnlich sind. Ich hoffe, ich schaffe in wenigen Jahren mit Anfang 30 auch den Absprung nach Norwegen. Viele Grüße und danke für deinen Input hier auf KZfaq

Hei, Ich habe den 1.7TC fuer das F mount noch, kann ich aber nicht so empfehlen. Fotomæssig ist der echt nicht so toll, video ist okay. Zum campen in Norwegen brauch man keine Genehmigung, man darf auch auf privatem Grund 2 Næchte verbringen ohne den Besitzer zu fragen. Hierbei ist aber gegenseitiger Respekt sehr wichtig, sonst funktioniert das ganze System in Norwegen nicht ;) Das ist genau die Schnellwechselplatte die du schreibst, ich bræuchte mal eine zweite. Ich vergesse die gerne mal am Objektiv das ich nicht mitnehme. Ist in so manchen Punkten schøner hier. Viel Erfolg mit deinen Plænen und danke fuer den Kommentar :)

@@GunnarDresler Hei, tusen takk. Dann werde ich dieses Jahr sicher auch 1-2 Mal mit der Kamera und dem Zelt unterwegs sein, komme momentan so schwer hoch und schaffe es kaum, mich zu motivieren. Norwegisch lernen und deine Videos helfen sehr! Har det! Med vennlig hilsen, Valentin.

Hey Arthur, I do not know myself around Lofoten too much, but note that I in general do not share locations. I think there are enough resources to do your own research and be successful. Good luck!

quick question, at the beginning you mentioned you added the converter.... what do you mean?

So you’re question is what a tele-converter is? Well there are normally two kinds: 1,4 and 2,0 tele converters (this here is 1,7). They “lengthen” your reach. A 400 mm lens combined with a 1,4 tele converter becomes 560 mm for example, but it will also let less light in with that factor. I hope that explained it in an understandable way. This is why I can still Film really well with a converter used, but for photos I have seen that the 1,7 just decreases the quality a lot and F9.8 is quite dark for flying birds as well. Cheers :)

Nahaha I mean it was mostly related to video. As said, I really do not like this one for photos, but I plan on switching to Z mount tele lenses soon anyway. Have a good weekend, Frank :)
