May I ask what causes that very grinding buzzing noise while takeoff, is it just caused by full throttle? Heard exactly the same sound as well myself and got kinda scared, sat right next to the turbine.

It looks quite real. I have had way too many bird strikes to remembered through out my 28 years flying career (20,000+ hours of flight time in Airliners). I would say I hit the bird once a month on average. Most of them were small birds, so the flight engineer just clean the blood stain and she will be good for the next flight. Although this one seems pretty big.

@@BoeingJetJockey don't tell me, I really not enjoy bird strikes. Besides the cleaning, the inspections after. Last year we had several sever bird strikes, one needing a complete engine replacement, another with some compressor blade damage (in limits) and hours of boroscoping and countless hours of monitoring and reinspections.

@@Coffejellly No.Air brakes are spoilers(or ground spoilers).They are on the upper surface of the wing.You can use them at landing(ground spoilers) to ''destroy'' the boundary layer of the airflow on the wing or you can use them in flight as ailerons to roll the plane(very rare or in emergency situations).Flaps are on the rear of the wing(trailing edge) and are used in takeoff or landing

X-Plane 10 Flights Not really. An ILS approach and an autoland are two very different things. Pilots fly an ILS on a pretty regular basis, but will disconnect the autopilot pretty far out. An autoland is only used in low visibility, and it also requires the runway and the aircraft to be at least CAT II equipped, and CAT III if the visibility is really bad.

Judging from the foggy weather and the low visibility that it gives, (less than 200ft above ground level) it could've been an auto-land. But that's just my assumption. If it were actually the pilots, then yeah, amazingly butter smooth landing.

@@zoranmarlievski7921 It is, yes. Auto-lands are only being done when visibility is very-low but the winds are acceptable. Below 15kt tailwind, if I remember correctly. Therefore instead of diverting, they just do an auto-land.

This was most likely a fully automated landing because of the really bad visibility, landing wouldn't be possible any other way. Modern airliners can do that as long as the particular runway is equipped with ILS Cat 3.

Out of all aircraft I've flown with, the Airbus 319/320/321 and the Fokker 100 felt the safest to me. In larger planes, I don't feel like the pilots have as much control or response. You can tell by how much they over-correct. Most landings I've had in an Airbus A380 and a Boeing 777 felt absolutely botched.

I remember about 5 years ago my wizzair flight was delayed by 6hours because of the flight before on thesame aircraft had a bird strike and they had to wait to get us another one and we had to stay in the airport for about 9 hours😅

What a perfect capture from the flight. I am curious with which cam you recorded it. People are talking, but i had a flight EIN-VNO and a baby was crying from approx. Germany till VNO landing. i made also a nice footage. But with a crying baby! I'd better edit it with music :( .

I almost wonder if the pilots were even aware of it. They retracted the flaps and even used reverse thrust on the possibly affected engine (number 1), didn't shut it down until fully parked. If they weren't aware, how long until they noticed? Any fatigue on the fan blades caused by possible ingestion? Mind, those engines are designed for bird strikes, but usually require inspection thereafter for such. Perhaps they noticed upon post flight inspection if there's evidence. May look this one up. Great vid!

The pilot couldn't see, simply using the ILS probably to get them down and then disengaged the autopilot when he was at like 200 and started getting visibility of the runway! Most landings are like this and the pilot controls the aircraft for very little time before actually landing :)

It sometimes led to crashes, when pilots didn't trust their instruments. There's a phenomenon called somatogravic illusion which causes you to feel like you're going upwards while being perfectly leveled. If the pilot then pulls down, it can end up in a crash.
