the rhythms he plays in this solo are very advanced and complex... some of his fast lines are pure triplets that are very difficult to place... he uses lots of harmonic substitutions as well, and occasionally plays outside... so you couldn't be further from the truth!

I agree Joscho is an amazing guitaris, and one of the most technical guitarists I have ever seen. I DID NOT say he has no harmonics, I said he doesn't have the sense of melody that Django did. Let me explain what I meant. Django had a very obscure and unique sense of melody, diverging often from the tunes melody entirely. He had a unique and unpredictable sense of rythm as well. The details are easy to miss unless you really pay close attention to his lead/solo playing.....

I was wrong to compare the two guitarists. Joscho is his own brand of jazz manouche and he is brilliant at what he does. I think the Hot Club of France was one of a kind. As is Joscho and his crew. I apologize for the poor expression of my thoughts.

youve got it al wrong and in reality you listed all of the things he does have such as harmonics,melody and he has fantastic rythm and his impros will blow yours(or anyopne elses out of the water anyday of the week.your abviously lacking in musical knowledge and taste at that.you dont even deserve to be entitled to that opinion.
