I think everyone should keep in mind that the first half of the season is probably similar to NFL Preseason. The teams and staffs were formed relatively recently. No OTA's, minicamps etc. Second half of the season and playoffs should be really something to watch.

Smoove they showed an interview with Perez about how he got into football. He said he learned everything from KZfaq and eventually became the starting QB for a D2 school.

Chris Lancour Atlanta United just won’t the mls cup. And don’t say it’s just soccer when there home crowd is usually 50000 plus every game and in the playoffs they were doing over 70000 a game. That’s insane.

juan trujillo - United simply found their niche, there are a lot of transplants and international residents here who enjoy soccer and the team started off hot. Most of us don't care about that shit. They hype for that cup win went away in a week. We want a super bowl win or something else more meaningful than a soccer cup that only serves to let everyone know we can't win anything else

Why do so many people downplay Atlanta sports? We're really not worse than most cities. The Braves won their division. The Braves won their division every year from 1991-2005 ( I think), and then again in 2013 (?) and 2018. The Falcons were recently in a Super Bowl. The Falcons routinely have sell-out attendance. The Braves attendance is slightly above middle of the pack. The United recently won the MLS Cup and have the highest attendance in MLS. The Hawks have had a lot of winning seasons throughout the 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s, going to the Eastern Conference Finals four or so years ago. The Thrashers weren't very good, and with their inept ownership, it's easy to understand why they are no longer in the city.

Christ Follower - Because despite all this success we have one (two if an MLS cup means anything to you) title since 1966. You're not supposed to keep making it to the top and embarrassing yourself. It's a problem because plenty of other cities and fan bases would love to have the relative successes and opportunities we've enjoyed over the years. There's nothing good about being known as underachievers.

@@Vichedges There's something to be said for a guy who can run through goal line. That used to be the fullback's job but there's so few fullbacks these days that a good power running halfback gets those snaps now. And having an RB who can punch through goal line is solid gold, even if he is a roleplayer rather than a "bell cow" back.

Yep, only 9 teams were better. Unfortunately, Stat Ryan could only lead the team to 25th in scoring and you win games by scoring, not padding your stats in garbage time. Maybe if he gets some receivers they will do better next season.

@@ItsPGWavy I know Ryan claims injuries hurt them, and on defense, I agree. Still, their offense was 9th but their scoring was 25th. Their QB and receiving corp remained intact, and Ryan was rarely sacked. Ryan has always had issues scoring in the Red Zone. I don't think they will ever see another Super Bowl with Ryan at the helm unless they get a top 5 defense.

Its kinda cool seeing Alabama have a team that unites the entire state. Usually its UA v AU with the other schools like UAB, UNA, UoSA, and others leaning one way or another. More importantly, I am happy for guys like Richardson who gets a shot at redemption and Perez who probably needs to be resigned by the Rams ASAP. I will hate to see guys like that leave, but if i see them in the NFL next year I'll be okay with it. Another suggestion would be that players get a patch or something on their helmet or uniform when they come from the AAF. Like that would do so much for the league having that built in sponsorship, so like if lets say Perez is picked up by a team, and goes full Nick Foles in the post season or wins MVP, the AAF can get a shout out and say, whelp, you would've passed on this guy. I really like the AAF so far, and would love it if next year the AAF champ plays the XFL champ in the Semi-Pro Bowl (kinda like when the AFL versus the NFL back in the day).

That Perez guy is really good. A lightning fast release, and he split and beat the safties on cover 4 on a 55 yard pass. It was imcomplete but a good throw. Dude has an NFL arm.

The comeback potential with the 4th and 12 conversion is ridiculous. You could comeback from a 28 point deficit with 5 min left if you just get big plays and keep converting.

That takes skill. If a team came back that way then they deserved it by constantly executing to position a comeback. That is excellent offense if a team can do that. Way better option than an onside kick and putting the game in the hands of the kicker. Kickers don't need to have that huge of a role in football.

I'm from here... Atlanta sports teams don't make the simple decisions 😔. Our one championship came against Cleveland. Shows you what we are as a sports city. And before you mention that garbage MLS cup, the only people who cared about that are all the international transplants living here who haven't been here more than 15 years. The hype for that win died in a week.
