What do love about being in Michigan vs Houston, since your move?

@@jm-xg7lm Yes, I am born and raised in Houston, Texas, from the south side. It’s not the best area, so I decided to move to Birmingham, Michigan, for a relationship and work. I lived in Birmingham for a year and a half on Adams Road, zip code 48009. It was very beautiful, with all four seasons and a very walkable city. If you wanted to go to another township, it was only a 10 to 15-minute drive, and then you'd be in another city. In Texas, everything takes nearly an hour to get to, which is very inconvenient. You definitely need a car more in Houston than in Birmingham. Birmingham is quiet, not very busy, and has a luxurious, suburban feel. The people are decent and nice, and the community is quite diverse, with many White and Arabian residents. It’s a bit pricey, but if you’re making money, that shouldn’t be a problem. My apartment was across the street from downtown Birmingham, which was beautiful. They have everything there, including Kroger, but it can be a little expensive. HAHA I give Birmingham a 10 for walkability. I felt so safe and lost a lot of weight from walking because I didn’t need to drive much. Their parks are very accessible, and there is a lot of nature in Michigan. In Houston, if we want to go tubing, we have to drive three hours to Austin, or if we want to go to the beach from the northwest side, it’s about an hour to Galveston. In Birmingham, tubing is just a 10 to 15-minute drive away. They have a lot of water and nature, and it’s very walkable with friendly people. I loved the all four seasons weather in Birmingham. It wasn’t crazy hot, and experiencing all four seasons was very fun. I no longer live in Birmingham, but if I could, I would move back in a heartbeat. Birmingham was very nice, and I could enjoy a luxurious night out there. I think you’ll love it out there.

@@jm-xg7lm Additionally, Birmingham is very dog-friendly, with many people walking their dogs and jogging. The area is very commutable and accessible. You can ride your bike safely, and the nature is amazing. If I could go back to Birmingham, I would in a heartbeat. The only challenge is driving in the snow because when it snows in Michigan, it really snows. But if you can master that, it’s perfectly fine. Birmingham was very nice, with decent people. I give them 10s across the board.

That's not a Birmingham issue, that's a Michigan issue. Two things that Michigan have that are crappy! - Weather and Roads.

I can give you that info. The diversity in Birmingham, MI is very little with the majority population being white (about 92.3%). 3% of the population are African-American, 2.5% are Asian, 2.5% are Latino. That being said, if you can get even a slice of real estate there, you have automatically entered the "I made it" status. Birmingham has the best location ever in any place in Detroit. It's surrounded by other wealthy cities and is within 10-15 mins from the best malls, hotels, restaurants, spas, etc.

I've never been to Birmingham, AL but I'd guess that they are TOTALLY different.
