Chocolate Cake with Cherries! AMAZING DESSERT for Tea Time!
I offer you a very tasty and tender chocolate cake with cherries. So, for making the chocolate sponge cake, we'll need the following ingredients:
Eggs - 5
Sugar - 150 g
Flour - 110 g
Cocoa - 40 g
Water - 50 g
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Salt - ¼ tsp
Vanilla sugar
Making the sponge cake:
Whisk eggs with sugar, a pinch of salt, and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy. It's very important to beat the eggs well.
Add water. Mix cocoa with flour and baking powder, sift it into the egg-sugar mixture, and gently fold with a spatula.
Pour the batter into a 21 cm diameter pan and bake for 40-45 minutes in a preheated oven at 180°C. Check the readiness with a wooden skewer.
Let the baked sponge cake cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into 2 or 3 layers. The sponge cake turns out simply airy. This perfect chocolate sponge cake can be made with various creams.
I'll make a cream from sour cream.
For the cream, we'll need:
450 grams of sour cream
3-4 tablespoons of powdered sugar
Whisk the sour cream with powdered sugar for about 2-3 minutes.
For the filling, we'll use cherries in their own juice. Assemble the cake. Spread the sponge cake layers with sour cream, add cherries, and place the next layer. Pour the cake with sour cream and sprinkle with chopped walnuts on top.
