The Fair Lady is sister to Quelaag, both are daughters of the Witch of Izalith, transformed into monsters when their mom failed to create a new first flame. The outfit you wore you stole from the corpse of another sister, who was being watched over by their brother, whom you killed. The Bed of Chaos was the Witch. The Fair Lady was sick because she felt bad for the inhabitants of Blightown and so drained most of the poison. Quelaag was hunting humanity to help her heal. The door you found to the side opens when you reach the 2nd level of service to the Fair Lady.

@@joshuaellis8679 That sounds like either terrible luck or you not looking hard enough. I found 4 on my first playthrough of remastered. I have 3000 hours logged on one character in the original and I had found 1 at that point.

Only Amber can make the demon ruins and lost Izalith fun and exciting, by the end of the epiosde I was thinking "y'know what, it is quite cool and intersting, it has its charm actually" and I thought it was fucking terrible haha. If the bed of chaos was underwhelming, dont worry, the dlc is anything but. So you'll be going out on a high, can't wait for the next episode now! Also the final boss is pretty awesome and has a fantastic backing track thats worth keeping an ear out for

And another exit to another place, perhaps it's too late, but i advise to find it. 9:27 In front of this destroyed statue, whose cat's feet are left, there is actually a covenant. 24:11 - 26:40 - You didn't read the description of this important garment. 1:17:00 This pyromancer wears these clothes, too. 1:35:04 You can summon her and talk to her a few times before going to the DLC. The sign is near the rocks to the right of Hydra Lake. (where you stood and chopped off the heads of the hydra)

This was such a blast, I feel like most of my comments here seem to be "I appreciate someone playing the game a lot like I did" but it continues to be true! In this case, with you being patient and curious rather than getting frustrated and raging at the weird shit, like the (notorious) Bed of Chaos, haha. Another fun fact: in older versions of this game, the lava in Lost Izalith and the Demon Ruins was *super* bright with some truly blinding bloom effects on it, and it made the area a far worse experience. On top of that, really early versions had just terribly calibrated aggro ranges for the enemies down there, making it so the dragon butts would just all attack you at once. 😬

The best part about bed of chaos is that now that you have defeated her/them there are only quality bosses/areas left in the game. I believe including dlc there are 5 bosses left, 3 of which are my favourite in the game. Can't wait to see what you think.

The fair lady is Qualanna, she provides the chaos covenant which is important in saving Solair. You can actually speak with her if you're wearing the the old witch ring. Qualanna is very very sick, if you speak to her she will believe you are Qualag her sister and are bringing her humanity to make her feel better.

the edits in this episode were hilarious, i loved it! the Bed of Chaos is easily the worst boss in the game (by pretty much unanimous agreement) and i'm impressed that you didn't die more than you did tbh lmao the director of ds1 (and ds3, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring), Miyazaki, has said himself that he regrets how Lost Izalith and the Bed of Chaos turned out, they were facing deadlines like crazy and never got the time to give the area the attention it needed, unfortunately looking forward to the dlc! this series is definitely one of my favourites on this channel!

Hey Amber. Love the playthrough. If you're interested in a little bit of lore about the Fair Lady, there's a way to talk to her. You'd have to wear the Old Witch's Ring for that. It was one of the starting gifts you could pick in the character creator. You can still get it by trading a certain item you don't have yet to snuggly the crow. Also her sister Quelana on the bottom of Blighttown has a few more lore bits about the Witch of Izalith and her daughters.

Whilst I've finished this game a multitude of times and enjoy watching other playthroughs, I consider yours my favorite by far, as is the same with your bloodborne playthrough. Your attention to detail in these cryptic games is amazing and some of the things you've seen on your first playthough have taken me multiple times to notice. The big door down that side path opens if you offer 20 humanity to Qualanna. There is a sunlight bug on the other side of it that will drive solair mad. You can spit poison through the door or open the door through the chaos covenant to kill it before solair finds it.. otherwise he is lost..

I played Dark Souls like 4-5 times and *never* encountered thatdialogue with Solaire at the Sunlight Altar! Your playthrough is so full of character and these little coincidences, it's probably one of the best and most entertaining ones I've ever seen. Keep up the great work!

You should go there while having 25 Faith, then he has even more very neat dialogue! Or if you want to go with less Faith, the requirement drops by 5 per every player you help beat a boss by getting summoned. Although finding players to summon you might be difficult with how active and big the playerbase is these days.

There are 2 Characterquests down there . If you want to progress with those, have another look around. ;) Dont feel bad if you miss them...I missed pretty much all of them in my first playthrough. Thats just how it goes in this game.^^

I kinda like it too. It's obviously less polished than other areas, but I feel like that just adds to the eerie atmosphere. Everything is strange, and kind of sad. Scattered hints of the developers unrealized ambition stick out like remnants of a once-great civilization consumed by lava. You are descending, ever deeper, into a lost city, the aftermath of an ancient apocalypse, a cautionary monument to the hubris of seeking to unnaturally extend a dying age. (Or pushing your release date forward to try and compete with Skyrim!) Two beloved characters will most likely have their stories come to an end here (Unless you're lucky or follow a guide) It has old bosses as regular enemies, and four actual bosses in relatively quick succession, culminating in a lord-soul boss that's...well, at least it's different. If you do it last, as I like to, it functions as both a somber victory lap before the end, and an appropriate thematic lead up to the final boss. I dunno. I can't be objective about Dark Souls, its imperfections are part of its charm.

But if looked at individually, like you just did, one realizes how these things make it whole. Always respect the choices of the artists (including devs and everyone involved in making the product of course) is my opinion when it comes to video games, because they are in fact an art form.

There was a much closer bonfire that would've helped in Lost Izalith if you had gone into the second island.Also, I'd recommend seeing more of Lost Izalith if you would like to see the ends of some important character arcs.

There's actually a cheese method of beating Ceaseless Discharge. Aggro it by picking up the outfit then run back to where the fog wall was. He'll follow you so far then jump but fail to make it, clinging on with one arm. Simply hit the arm once and he'll fall to his death. 😄

What happened to the Daughters of Chaos (of whom Our Fair Lady is one) is a tragic story. It's never strongly communicated in the cutscenes, you need to dig for it a bit in item descriptions.

There's loads of cool and well-hidden items in the Duke's Archives that you missed, and even more stuff in Lost Izalith that you missed, including that invader Kirk (which you can no longer get this run after defeating the Bed of Chaos), two character's storylines, and the saddest moment in the game. **You might want to go back and look around some more in those places.**

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Just started to watch your Bloodborne playthrough as I stumbled over your "birthday-in-hell" playthrough. Do you know, that there are 4 different LIGHT-ROLLS that ofc provide different I-Frames as well? It is at 25%, 16.8%, 8.4% and 0% of equip burden. It increases I-FRAMES, roll-distance, walking speed etc.... I highly recommend to be at least under 16.8% of equip burden. It will make your dark souls life much easier. Parry with roar, red-tearstonering and hornet ring to get similar results as in Bloodborne.. you know what I am talking about.. right? ;) Remember your last two boss parries in Bloodborne.. :) Armor is only usefull for two reasons - extra status proctection or poise fights (like 4 kings). If you wanna play "heavy" - then you know there are hyper-armor weapons... But I would not recommend that style - appart from four king fight for beginners. Hope you love to walk slowly through Dark Souls. If not - try dragon form (0%) or at least 8.4% of equip burden... Greetings from Zurich (Switzerland).

You can also use pyromancy spells + a regular fire protection ring. 1:03:41 - Fast dying bosses - when he came too overpowered.) This ring was supposed to be used on the second run afterdeath.) But you can at least on the lava. 1:09:57 - Playing Dark Souls and not clearing the room? Never! In two passages, I completely cleared everything in search of something interesting. Partially found. 1:33:27 - As far as I remember, you did not reach the golden golem, but immediately went up to the forest and the "cats".

Amber finding Beatrice's gear and asking "have i missed something" really highlights all the extra bits of story you can get when you're human and get NPC invasions/Summons. Can't help but notice Amber hasn't engaged with summons side of the game at all. Which is fine (and hardcore, on those tough bosses!) But makes things like Beatrice's gear completely out of nowhere!

She does speak. But you need to wear something. Although, you did kill her sister. Then you pillaged the body of the ceaseless discharge’s sister. And, as you noticed he was very sad about his sister. To walk in lava, wear a ring, use a consumable., wear the right armour.

Endless Discharge was the brother of the Sisters of Chaos, one of whom lay on the tombstone you looted, an action that unleashed the Fury of Endless Discharge. You killed a poor victim of chaos magic, which corrupted and destroyed his body, while he was just tryn to protect the remains of a beloved one! What a monster ahah

The reason why picking up the armor triggered Ceaseless to attack is because the corpse wearing it was his sister. So basically you walked into his lair, which he was cool with, walked up to his sister's corpse, which he was willing to put up with, but when you started stripping her down, he got a bit fed up with you.

I really like the fact you don't fall for the typical traps as a content creator Like: limiting yourself a certain build because the comments say so, displaying a death counter or straight up letting people tell you where to go You make your own decisions and deal with the consequences - as it should be And on top you're also an absolute natural when or comes to playing these games Like, to the point where sometimes I question whether or not this is actually a blind playthrough 😅 I really enjoy this series, keep it up!!

If you knew the full story of Ceaseless Discharge you'd find it even sadder. As far as I know he's a baby transformed into a horrible demon, the ring he used to stop the lava burning his feet gone, protecting the remains of his sister and his last slice of humanity unto eternity. The noises he makes are even slowed down baby noises

I haven't made any comments on this playthrough until now, but I love your reactions SymbaLily! Your reaction to getting the Chaos Flame Ember at 32:57 was adorable 😄! And you did really well on that fight against Ceaseless Discharge! Most people cheese that boss (even though that "cheese" method is apparently intentional by the game devs!).

you did amazing Amber. the reason you had such a long treck to get to the bed of chaos wiithout a bonfire is bc there was a hidden bonfire at the structure right before entering the area of bed of chaos in the lava area. Also i loved your reaction to seeing the Capra Demon again, i laughed so hard at that. you are doing very good for your first playthrough. sometimes you do so well at it it feels like its not ur first playthrough so keep up the great work! cant wait for the DLC. then on to DS2!

And the final bs bosses defeated, well done The dlc is a step up in comparison with the rest of the game, the bosses are quicker and the enemies more aggressive than normal And about the witch set: There are several npcs that you only encounter in form of summon or invasion (then you need to be human) They don't speak but they appear in places that are related to their story, like kirk invading you in the lost izalith, if you trigger all the summons/invasions or kill the boss related to them, normally you get their equipement, back in the tomb of giants you tried to trigger a invasion, but to it happen the boss of the area needs to be alive and if you actually killed that invader, his set would be siting on nito's arena With kirk you need to trigger his 3 invasions to make his set appear in the fair lady bonfire. The witch beatrice can be summoned on moonlight butterfly and 4 kings fights. Solaire can be summoned in many boss fights, like the gargoyles and ornstein & smough
