I have been a silent listener for years. I have been inspired by you to love myself more and radiate kindness. I don't have any community support. My birthday is Sept 27! We are the same age. I totally agree, getting older is nice because our brains are maturing and we are deciding what’s important. I’m working to understand myself better so that my future choices bring me closer to my priorities and farther from what doesn’t matter :-)

Raya, happy birthday and what a beautiful gift your chosen family gave you, to speak their deepest heartsong for you. Although I don't know you, you seem like a genuine and caring person. It's true that the lockdown has allowed many of us who are not struggling financially to take a deeper look inside at our priorities, who and what we are surrounded by and our connections with loved ones. I have appreciated that as well. Please be careful, though, not to confuse how (literally) fortunate you are---you talk about not needing money and yet you live in a gorgeous home on the beach in Los Angeles, have no worries about food, shelter, clothing, safety, meaningful work, etc. There are many who do not have that luxury right now (or ever!) and are struggling for their lives and even to feed and house their children in safety. Our 'privilege' is the most challenging thing to look at when all our needs are met. You are totally on the right path, I am just inviting you to really look even deeper. Bring that passion, empathy, "doer" attitude and grace to those in deep need, many of whom live (literally!!) right around the corner from you. Venice Beach has a huge homeless population, violent gangs and many people with mental health issues.

Happy Birthday!! I still remember the boat ride in Central Park when you guys met. And now for something completely different. I'm sure you guys wear masks in V.B. But somebody told me the V.B. Mayor doesn't require it? And nobody is wearing masks in V.B. He told me S.M. tickets for it and is really strict. And it's started more clashes between V.B. & S.M. Is this true? Somebody told me this in Ralph's. But they could be a trump supporter. I'm high risk, and need to clear out my travel mailbox in V.B.

This is how all church community and communications between each other should be on a regular basis. The word church actually means community and this a good example of what should be picked up in church now days to edify each other and support each other in the body of Christ, but one thing I do not see here which makes me sad in this circle is God or Jesus being mentioned. I know the Bible says love is God and God is love, so I feel like only a part of him is being displayed here. He is the one who created love and created us in my belief. However, I am glad you guys have found a place of love and supportive community would love to have you visit our church and feel the holy spirit and Jesus love and fire in your bones that will never perish. Please check out John Crowder on line and watch our Slosh fests where miracles break out and an unbelievable community so strong comes together. It is epic.
