Love this town. Been passing through since I was a baby. My family is from Bisbee, Sierra Vista, and across the border Cananea. Been traveling these lands since I can remember. Although I was born and raised in California (LA) there is something about these parts: the land, the air, the sky, the people that is in the blood. Thanks for the vid. I hope to live here someday.

My dad grew up in Bisbee in the late 1920's thru the 1930's. According to my dad, it was a rough and tumble town then. I visited it several times in the early 1970's after my grandfather moved back to spend his last few years there. It was the first time I experienced a "company" town. It seemed to me that Phelps Dodge owned everything of consequence when I visited. I'm hoping to go back and see how things have changed, though it looks like in the video that the buildings are the same.

I'm watching a film called 'Violent Saturday' from 1955. It was shot on location in Bisbee but given the name of Bradenville in the movie. Doesn't look like much has changed.
@bobcourtier46744 жыл бұрын
Scott Evans When that film was made, Asians weren’t allowed to stay in town overnight. That didn’t change til ‘57. Great cast, Ernest Borgnine got his Oscar for Marty about the same time. Lee Marvin was in Bad Day in Black Rock, also the same era.

City=Data stats are that Bisbee has more violent crime than 90% of all US cities since the credit crunch, 2007. And DOUBLE the police average of all Arizona cities. What's that all about? Local meth? People just passing through? Other crime including murder is low. I know it's based on a small population, but really? An artist colony usually isn't also an assault location.

I went there for a very weird but super interesting Alice in Wonderland event where THE WHOLE TOWN was involved ! It was very surreal. At one point, it was even horrifying because there was this magician that we found on an old street in a super rusty brick shop. He did some things that were absolutely impossible, like making you hold your hand on in front of you in a fist and having quarters materialize out of thin air INSIDE OF YOUR OWN FIST. That place is not normal lol it is super fucking eerie but man.... I gotta say that it viscerally pulls at you; as if your dwelling in the abode of Hell itself.
