@@kevle0405 .... Maybe I should have phrased it differently. When I wrote how they would stink I was not thinking of just the smell, but the fumes that one has to breathe in. It takes years if not decades for the fumes from rubber to evaporite. This may be irrelivant for some people for driveways. However it is not healthy for children when used for playgrounds. I wish this company sucess with their product, but they should advance with caution as in the end wheather the tires are burried in the ground or laid on the ground it will remain pollution. Have a good day.

So, they recycle "hundreds of tires a day," yet they have over 400,000 tires on site at a time. So those 400,000 are not "breeding grounds" for mosquitos? And, if just one of those piles were to become on fire, they will burn for many months, massively polluting the air. Also, the workers with no ventilator masks are just asking for major health problems from inhaling toxic dust particles. Tire pollution is not just a problem with lack of proper recycling, but also on the side of every roadway. When your tires wear, the particles are cast on the roads to be washed to the sides and into waterways. Solutions? Only the future will tell...

Can't tires be recycled into tires again?
@SurmaSampo
@SurmaSampo 9 ай бұрын
Kind of, just not inflated tyres as you have to decompose the rubber and silicate compounds that are chemically bonded together back into oils and carbon. 50+% of a tyre is just carbon dust which is what makes them black. What ends up happening to most of them is they get burned to generate power in very poor countries because old tyres are cheaper than coal but much, much worse for pollution.
