Carlton Pearson
After college at the Oral Roberts University in Tulsa Oklahoma he served for 15 years on its Board of Regents, and two years as Associate Evangelist of The Oral Roberts Association, (ORA).
In 1977, Pearson founded Higher Dimensions Ministries (now New Dimensions ), in Tulsa, which grew to over 5,000.
Bishop Pearson was consecrated to the office of Bishop in 1996 thru a College of Bishops headed by Bishop Charles E Blake, presently the Presiding Bishop of the Churches of God In Christ, the denomination he was raised in and through whom he was ordained in 1971.
In 1993, Carlton married the former Gina Marie Gauthier who is a professional Life Coach and Yoga teacher.
More recently, he has felt a passion to proclaim the "Gospel Of Inclusion" and has written a widely acclaimed book by that name, published by Simon and Schuster. It confronts the Christian church's exclusivism as being inconsistent, in spirit with the teachings of Jesus.
Pearson's frank and often controversial take on a number of different subjects has earned him appearances on television programs such as NBC and MSNBC's Dateline, ABC's Nightline, 20/20, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, BET Tonight with Tavis Smiley, The Edge with Paula Zahn and Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, The Monique Show on BET, and a number of other television, radio and print media outlets. Bishop Pearson was recognized as one of America's 10 Most Influential Black Ministers by Gospel Today and Belief.net. He has received several honorary doctoral degrees.
Bishop Pearson recently served as the Interim Senior Minister at Christ Universal Temple in Chicago. He and Gina now host New Dimensions of Chicago, building a local multi-cultural and radically Inclusive spiritual community that emphasizes expanded consciousness and Self Actualization. His newest book, God Is Not A Christian, Nor A Jew, Muslim, Hindu...God Dwells With Us, In Us, Around Us, As Us was published by Simon and Schuster and released in the spring of 2010.

My faith is that God has the final say. God can and will do anything He chooses. My faith is that God will straighten it all out and we will know the truth. But... I also believe that we should not bare false witness. Trust God and mind your own faith. Stop stepping on God's creation. Let he without sin cast the first nuclear bomb. At this point in time nothing is safe from man. In the Holy Bible, satan killed very few people. Do the math. Check it. Study and show thyself approved! I have always been troubled with all the many slayings of others because God commanded such. So just in case for now I will not share in this belief, but I will when God tells me so. That's my faith.

Despite his rejection by the 'church' as a heretic. But there are many doctrines and interpretations that i hear and read. Some of it i know i dont agree with and others im still kind of not sure about etc. But It touched me his heart and love for God. Great job Bishop Bloomer in this interview and such a great testimony you have also. I was in tears many times thruout this interview. I also appreciate Bishop Pearson sharing his broader understanding of God's love and what Christ's work on the cross truly means to humanity. The patience of God is far beyond our comprehension which we see in his creation, and it is this love that we as people wrestle with to understand, and no doubt, why Christ is the only one who can give it to us. I thank Bishop Pearson for recognizing the vast scope of God's love and making us more aware of its power and limitless boundaries.

I believe in hell because Jesus did. I believe in judgment because John was told about it in Revelation. I believe in the wrath of God because John the Baptist who was sent to prepare the way for Jesus believed in it. In effect, Carlton Pearson is telling us to dismiss what the Bible says and let him pick and choose what is truth and what isn't. I think not. Jesus is the Truth. Jesus is God. Jesus is perfect. I will follow Him. His disciples believed in hell, and their followers known as the apostolic fathers all believed in hell. Just because a few heretics like Origen and Clement of Alexandria and their modern equivalents reject hell doesn't mean that we should.

I still love Bishop Charlton Pearson and will continue to pray for me. If we in the Body of Christ can pray and interceed for our own in such a powerful way, we will not be in such great losses as we are now. The devil actually came for this man and we didn't do anything massive about it, after it happened, apart from people casting blame instead of interceed. Let's pray him back because he is one of us,it can happen to anyone but the fashion might be different. We all need to hold up one another up before God's throne. I shall continue to interceed for Bishop Charlton, even if I'm among the few or remnants that might be praying for his restoration at the moment. Selah.

I agree with a lot of what you said , as believers we are called to pray and intercede. But I think that your missing 1 crucial point ; have you ever tried to witness to someone who was once a believer ? It is extremely difficult and the Bible tells us why . Heb 6; 4-6 if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance ( please read it ) unless the Holy Spirit intervenes they will argue and dismiss anything that you can say. Also Gal 19 if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed . Despite what Carlton and those lost in New Age are preaching the gospel isn’t about inclusion and no judgement . Jesus spoke many times about the cost of being a disciple , heaven and hell, and judgment.

He was a heretic and eisegete. The gospel of inclusion, as taught by Carlton Pearson and others, encompasses several false beliefs. This teaching offends many, and, instead of conforming their thinking to the clear teaching of the Word of God, some change what the Bible says and spread this false teaching. The gospel of inclusion is an example of this.

@sirtiyesquare-levias1357 Let’s not confused Jesus’ love for all with the false doctrine of inclusion. Jesus is clear in Matthew the 7 chapter. Bishop Pearson’s false doctrine goes against the teachings of Jesus in this chapter. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. The Bible warns Christians that they can “fall from grace” (Gal. 5:1-5), be cut off from salvation (Rom. 11:18-22), have their names removed from the Lamb’s Book of Life (Rev. 22:19), by committing certain sins and not repenting of them (cf. Eph. 5: 3-5; 1Cor. 6:9; Gal. 5:19, Rev. 21:6-8) Moreover, verse 15 warns us about false prophets. “15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” So many are quick to quote verse 5, however they fail to mention or understand that over in John it states we are permitted to judge righteously. The word says to speak the truth in love. Speaking the truth in love is speaking that which is doctrinally correct and that which proceeds from a biblically committed life to a person who is in need of correction. (1)

I think this was a great interview. To basically "quiet" a lot of you "holy rolling" saints who's stuck on doctrines and dissing the man, one word he shares through his experiences is love. I can relate to what this man is saying and although I may not agree with everything he says, I respect it. According to the 1st amendment, he as well as us have the right to freedom of speech, religion, and press. It just amazes me how "the church" ousted him but look at it now and it's mind set. So focused on what's right and wrong but don't have love. I thank God I'm not on here ridiculing a man who's actually free and openly admits he's still searching. Some of us think we've made it and talk about sin all day. But sin is this, the frailties of our "human condition" we falter into that displeases God. Some of you need to stop with your sermonettes and take a closer look at Gods ultimate grace, love.

Bishop, you mentioned "standing in between the adulteress and the people throwing the stones", Jesus was that person who made a stand on her sin..."Go an SIN no more." I think that's the difference. Jesus didn't say "leave her be". He acknowledged her sin and told her to correct it. You can't "accept" sinful living and that's what you are doing and preaching.
@RUABerean
@RUABerean 10 жыл бұрын
You're totally missing the point. Jesus didn't HAVE to say, "leave her be." He made a challenge to them by saying "Those of you who are SINLESS, cast the first stone at her," and guess what? They "left her be," because nobody among them WERE sinless, and I hate to burst your bubble, but neither are YOU. So, what Jesus DID was make a "stand" on their(And also YOUR)hypocrisy. So, if you yourself are sinful, you are as big a hypocrite as those potential stone-throwers if you point out and judge OTHER people's sin, and not deal with your own. Also, read the parable about the self-righteous Pharisee and the lowly publican who both went to the temple to pray, and see which one Jesus said was more honorable(Luke 18:9-14)
@damiant.mccalman8123

You are missing my point. You are so focused on what Jesus said to those standing around, but I am focused on what Jesus spoke to the women; "go and SIN no more". I am concerned about the SINNER who was caught in the act and so is He and God. Repentance is ours to have and use. This isn't about self-righteousness. Later on in scripture, Jesus also tells the people to do as the Pharisees say but not what they do. My point is disregarding sin is dangerous and irresponsible for a preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
@RUABerean
@RUABerean 10 жыл бұрын
Damian T. McCalman No, I totally get your point. But like Jesus told the Pharisees, if you--Damian T McCalman--are completely and TOTALLY sinless, then indeed you have every reason, and every right to cast stones at the woman taken in adultery, and at anyone else whose sin you disapprove of. But sir, I can with 100% certainty say that you sin just as much IF NOT MORE than people who don't profess Christ, therefore, you are just like those Pharisees who one by one walked away from the adulteress, because they KNEW that they themselves were not without sin. "Later on in scripture," Jesus also tells people like yourself to get the log out of your own eye, and only THEN will you be able to cast out the speck in someone else's.(Matt 7:3-5) So yes sir...Jesus condemns self-righteousness in people like yourself. But He also blinds you that you can't see it(John 9:40,41). So, continue casting your stones and demanding that other people become like you, a hypocrite. You do nothing but make your potential converts twice the son of Gehenna as yourself(Matthew 23:13-15). You haven't the power to forgive sin, nor the ability to make it so men and women will TRULY repent of their sin...Jesus and God alone have that power. And He will not only FORGIVE every sin in due time(I Tim 2:3-6), He will also TAKE SIN AWAY FROM US. "Behold the Lamb of God WHICH TAKETH AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD". (John 1:29) We will ALL be drawn to Christ(John 12:32), each and every person in their own order(1 Cor 15:22,23). We will ALL repent of our sin and acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord to God's glory(Phil 2:10,11). But it's a PROCESS. We cannot of our own power and strength cease from sinning. Jesus must eradicate those sins, and He WILL do it in each and every one of us...you included. Then, and ONLY then, will we "SIN NO MORE." Thanks for the debate, I will now withdraw from this discussion and let you ponder these precious truths, that you so adamantly despise, but will rejoice over when your eyes are opened
@damiant.mccalman8123
@damiant.mccalman8123 10 жыл бұрын
DackupDoo the scripture says that He Jesus said "sin no more". It's not a thought, I can read. We can on our own stop doing the things that God calls sin by controlling our own desires. Now the Holy Spirit let's us know when we are crossing the line, but we also know if we study scripture. I can not commit adultery, I can not lie, I can not steal...if I say that I can't, then I am a lie and speaking lies. 1 John is a great book to study. Jesus died so that sin would not have power over us and so that we could have power over it. You gotta read your Bible.

RUABerean. 2 Corinthians 7 says "...let US cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of the Lord. " What's your interpretation of this scripture? Casting stones was a "death sentence". There's a huge difference between casting stones and pointing out sin. If you should see me sin, I would expect you to point it out to me so that I know. Am I perfect, NO, but I know what POWER I have been given to BECOME a child of God.

I love his real message of Love and that includes all people, real inclusion real acceptance of difference, diversity. let us come together in love. I loved him when I used to watch him on TBN many years ago. It is good to do good works, let us begin to love each other and learn what this actually means. Even "Church people" often speak about "Church folks" it seems to me that is a problem that can be corrected. Each person has their own responsibility as well as the right to choose. How about speaking about Love and acting as if you are the body of Christ It is very easy to judge another. It is my belief that Carlton is man of God in his own way and truly that is enough for me. I do not have to join his church to endorse him, I believe he is creating something new and for the good of all. Tell me is he hurting you, in any way? And WHEN did deliverance stop being an option? And just because a sin is widespread doesn't mean it is not sin...I have been involved in a LOT of sin over the years even after salvation but God has delivered me from MANY of them (including sexual sin) and I love God so much that I refuse to turn back. I can't get with saying you love God but you consciously choose to WILLFULLY disobey Him for the rest of your life and even ask Him to say that disobeying/displeasing Him is suddenly okay with Him. LOVE makes you want to make the object of your affection HAPPY not grieved. This new value system is all about pleasing SELF and disregarding God but still being religious. Yes, Jesus did forgive and protect the adulterous woman but what did he tell her??? "GO AND SIN NO MORE" we never talk about that portion. Jesus did NOT tell the woman "It's okay. That's who you are. Keep on sleeping with married men if that's what you feel".

At the end of the day people will always find a way to justify anything they do. That is one of my biggest hesitations on going further into ministry. People can hear what to do and know the right thing to do all day. At the end of the day they still decide to do whatever the heck they want to do and expect the Holy Ghost to put His stamp of approval on it. I've done my dirt and never once expected God to say "that's okay it's a desire of your's so it's just fine". You can't pick and choose what scripture s you want to believe and live by in the Bible. It's either all or none. The song is called I surrender all, not I surrender some of it. Can you imagine how stupid it would sound for someone to sing that song? I surrender some of it.? Now imagine how stupid it looks when you live that out.

"Is there anyone well known and have written books explaining your view of scripture?" This is the problem that most Christians have in trying to get a grasp on the words of Christ, and I can honestly say, I was one. See, we tend to gravitate towards certain men when trying to understand Christ's words. We rely on seminaries, preachers, televangelists, and whoever writes the most thought-provoking books that our carnal minds can grasp.

"Jesus said if you love Me you will keep My commandments!" Yep. Thankfully, once God gives us a pliable heart of flesh in place of the heart of stone we all have, He will CAUSE us to walk in His ways: Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, AND CAUSE YOU TO WALK IN MY STATUTES, AND YE SHALL KEEP MY JUDGMENTS, AND DO THEM. That's why the orthodox idea of "hell" is false. God will cause all of us to walk in His ways. We really have no say in the matter. Thank God for the gospel

He said... "Wondering and wondering" He is "Bored and searching for a new audience to preach to". Some of this interview makes me so said. Thru the Azuza conferences, my heart was pricked and i was baptized in the Holy Ghost. I can feel still feel his anointing. I pray that his spirit no longer wanders and if you have called him, Lord, to be all things to all people (1 Corinthians 9:19-23) protect Him. Take not his anointing from Him, speak clearly to him and tune his ears! In Jesus name Amen.

Thank you Bishop Bloomer for this interview. Thank you Bishop Carlton Pearson, I love you. Please hurry back , the world needs your gift.I totally understood what you said about finding out how much people devalued you by not reaching out in your time of need, and there not being anyone to stand between you and the stones.

I do agree with you jerome taylor There is so much he says that is very deep and enlightened. I think we are quick to judge as Christians due to our prejudice mindset. I don"t agree on everything he is saying....but doesn't make me right because i don't agree. May God help us all, understanding His will. God bless Bishop Pearson and his family.
