Paul took the Gospel to the Gentiles. Daniel described our time of today, "knowledge will increase" and the body of Christ should seek the Lord in scriptures. Jesus is the Word. We need to come to Jesus like a child. Not get caught up in overly complicated religious systems and the traditions of men. Jesus gave us more than enough to do: the great commission and the Lord's table. We worship God in Spirit. Why would anyone venerate an earthly woman? Even Jesus didn't venerate his own mother.

That's not what he is saying. The bishop is saying Mary had a hard life before and after Christ. I can imagine in those times it would be especially being single and pregnant. But what he is saying is to respect Mary, His mother is to honor Him. At no time did the bishop say Mary saves us. Only Jesus our Lord can save us.
