Great Video & Update, It is so nice to see how Linda works her magic. I applaud your diligence in what we call Motherhood. It is so fun to watch Holland Diane growing up. Such sweet milestones. She of course is the cutest doll in the shop. I encourage you to keep a journal of special moments. I am old fashioned that way. We did not have many "videos" available in my day, the technology was not very good. When my daughter (who is now 27 and a First Grade Teacher) started school, she would come home with so many comments. I would immediately write them down. I developed Epilepsy as an adult which erased so many memories. I have gone through those journals several times with her and we laugh our heads off at the things she said and experienced over the years. I have a collection of many dolls. At one point I bought a couple of reproduction antique dolls. I was always afraid I would break them. I did acquire 5 at an estate sale last year, 3 are displayed in my bedroom. They were professionally restored. I am enjoying Ellowyne and laugh as I tell other doll friends that I am currently in Ellowyne Wilde land. I did have to do a little restoration myself a few weeks ago. I bought an Amber on ebay that had a small crack on the neck. The seller said the head was completely fine and I knew that I could just cover it with a scarf. The doll arrived with the head off. I contacted a seller on ebay who had the bodies for sale. We were worried about the skin tone matching. The head had the complete joint and he wished me luck getting it off. Lowes hardware had a special set of needle pliars and I googled how to heat the vinyl etc. I was nervous but it turned out that after a few minutes of heating around the opening, the pliars pulled the piece right out and I attached her to the new body! I sent him a photo and the skin tone was a good match. I have enjoyed re dressing some of my dolls, It takes me time to get the outfit together, shoes, hair, I love them to have little handbags lol. I have several wonderful discount stores and a children's resale boutique that has lovely items. Thanks for the video. Love how the brunette turned out!

So good to be back with you Rachel. Holland Diane is the cutest "doll" in the world. Can't believe she is 7 months old now. She is chomping and teething like crazy. I remember those days with my children and grands. Love that Bru!!! Can't wait to see her dressed with what Linda and you choose. I really was SO PLEASED to hear your comments on dolls that are gorgeous but not perfect. That's the mix I have in my collection of Antique dolls. I love them the most because they are my Survivors, not just more affordable. You are terrific Rachel. The shops is looking fabulous. Lots of hard work and lots of satisfaction. 👍 ❤❤❤to all of you at Turn of the Century Antiques.

A very nice surprise to have a video today. I am laughing at your description of Holland Diane. The days if staying put are over..the fun is about to begin. Put on your jogging shoes. The new doll is beautiful. I love watching Linda resting dolls. Very clever trick with the wire. I buy a doll because I like it. Antique dolls aren't my favorites..I like watching Linda work on them..I older doll but not the antiques. I am afraid I would break one. I love holding and playing with them. I am so happy you didn't need formula. The redheaded doll is gorgeous. I enjoyed your video..from Tennessee

my plans this summer are to sell some of my dolls. Sadly my landlady has threatened me with eviction for having too many dolls. I admit i have alot of dolls but i managed for 10 years to squeeze them into my tiny one bedroom apt. But some will need to go now so i can hopefully keep the roof over my head. I can't afford to move. I had a stroke the end of february and i can only work part time. I am waiting to see if i get approved for disability. It will give me a bit more money to maybe be able to enjoy life a little more rather than just mostly buy essentials.

What is does for me…..exactly. I was just thinking this earlier when I was oohing and aahing over a doll online and trying to express why she was so appealing. I think I prefer a doll with repairs or damage as I don’t want anything too precious and expensive to enjoy. I’ve got some repairs, so they’re just like me, haha.

Glad to see you're planning to build an area for Holland Diane to play and be creative with her thoughts. Remember she will always have an agenda and most of the time will not keep yours in mind 😅. Hello! Love the bisque hand Jumeau! The Strong Museum had an all factory original Jumeau with porcelain hands. The doll museum I grew up at Mary Merritts Doll Museum in Douglassville PA had a Jumeau with original porcelain hands, and they also had a Jumeau with rare lead metal hands. All of these dolls were Tête Jumeau models, but with a closed mouth. The porcelain hands were the same shape as the one you have. The dolls in the Merritts collection had blue stamp bodies and closed mouths. The doll in the Strong museum collection had a closed mouth and is featured on page 47 of Magaret Whittons book, The Jumeau Doll. Hope this is helpful for you, love your videos! Kindly Tracey Knight

Rachel, I am so happy to see all your updates💖, Linda's talents in repairing gorgeous antique dolls💖, and see how Holland Diane is growing and becoming so awesome💛💛💛💛💛!!! Holland Diane really makes me smile😃💖 and she likes the same things I do avocados🥑, yogurt, blueberries🫐 and sweet potatoes🍠😊🥰!! As for how I am doing, well I am under a lot of stress😞😞because my new Landlady is a heartless monster and she is threatening to evict my Mom and I because she does not want to do needed repairs and my Mom might need surgery. However, watching your videos really helps to cheer me up😃😃💖💖!! I so LOVE watching Linda clean that Jumeau Doll and I so LOVE what Linda did with the Jumeau Doll's beautiful hair🤎🤎, adding a blue bow💙💙, and the dress is so beautiful too💖💖💖!!! I really LOVE how Linda restrung the HE-Be Doll💖💖💖 and yes I was thinking the same thing, that the HE-Be Doll resembles Holland Diane💖💖💖💖💖!!! And I really LOVED the sweet story that came with the French antique Doll ❤❤❤❤❤!! Rachel, I am looking forward to your next video on Linda's progress with the smiling Bru Doll too💜💜!! And I am sorry that you have problems with disrespectful idiots doing graffiti, but at least you have help to erase it. And Rachel, You are so blessed to have Stan to help with Holland Diane and Stan just LOVES her too💛💛!! Rachel, thank you so much for sharing this really awesome Doll repair💖💖 and Holland Diane👶👶 💜💜update video!!!

The Jumeau doll you have there is beautiful! I wouldn't be able to let her go either. The 'damage' does not bother me at all. The miniatures were sweet too. Thank you for the tip on cleaning leather with Cream of Tartar. Who would have thought. And GOJO, really? I'll try that for sure. How do you clean the clothes and wash and style hair on antique dolls? Where is your shop located? Do you sell dolls online also, or just in your shop?

@@RachelHoffmanDolls If museum curators followed Mildred Seeley's books which state that you should not buy a doll with a hair line, most of the amazing artworks that the public loves from earlier cultures like Greece, Egypt, the Aztecs, Inas, Ankor Wat, Africa etc would not be on display but hidden away from the public in the store room. Also think of Teddy Bear collectors, whilst they recognise the rare and perfectly preserved, they also cherish damaged and repaired bears as having endured an honorable life of service of giving happiness to children and adults. Given your wide fanbase you may be able to change some stubborn minds for the better!
