One huge difference is that the steam version lifts the brushhead when it is fully upright so when you use the hose attachment the brush rolls aren't spinning in the same spot on the carpet for the entire time

Good to know as I didn’t know that. I ordered the hydro steam today for Black Friday but last week I bought the turbo revolution 2x but I’m going to return it.

@E85_STI i had the pet proheat 2x revolution and it worked really well as an upright, the hose experience "worked' but it could be detrimental to the carpet where the brushroll just spun and spun so this is a welcome change.

The Hydrostream cleaner looks so good. More of a classy look. I almost ordered one but I found a new Pet Pro 1986 model locally for $125. Maybe I’ll get the Hydrostream in a few years. Anyway I appreciate the comparison videos. Very informative and fun to watch. Also, did you notice a difference in terms of sound? Is there one that’s more quiet?

So, after watching Vacuum Wars’ reviews, we bought the ProHeat 2X Revolution. Mom broke it. So then we bought the Hoover PowerScrub XL, which at the time was an all-new model (year or so ago). Two things I noticed immediately. The Hoover extracted significantly more fluid than the Bissell, and it did not have the shrill ear-piercing pitch the ProHeat et al had. I had to tilt the rear of the Bissell up to force the front nozzle down into the carpet to get it to extract all of the solution. Since the Hoover’s dirty tank sits directly on the head, it naturally pushes the nozzle down into the carpet. I think that is why the Hoover pulls out so much more solution. However, it does not steam the carpet. It relies solely on detergent to clean, which isn’t an issue most of the time. Having true steam surely makes the Bissell remove more crud than other units, but it still leaves excessive moisture in our carpet.

As someone who has owned 2 PowerScrub XL (which both failed), I am looking now at the ProHeat as well. Be aware that the PowerScrub is a solid machine, eventually one of the pumps will fail (maybe 2-3yrs later in my experience).

@@WaldoWizard Sorry, I bought the hydrosteam model, The steam + clean mode uses a ton of solution. I'd recommend it for small tough stains. I think both are good in terms of cleaning but the hydrosteam has the steam benefit for tougher spots. And the handheld attachment does NOT use steam. I'm not sure if he pointed it out in the video.

@@vincentomartellino yeah if you're using the steam wash it will use lots of water in a small area, EASILY an all day thing to dry. I recommend using a fan to make drying process faster. Several passes to dry it will help but obviously won't dry it completely.

The proheat sure seemed to clean that carpet WAY faster than the hydrosteam. Is that true, it looked that way. I just bought a hydrosteam and am considering returning because to really use the steam function you do need to go slow. But seeing you whip through the mess with the proheat almost makes me sold on that one.

Hi! Sadly you cannot but I never found it to be an issue with any of my carpets from super high pile rug in my living room (2 inch pile) or my 75oz high pile white carpets. You want the bristles to get as deep into the fibers to remove the stains.

Is it possible to do dry passes *without the brushes scrubbing on either of these? I want to be able to get more water out without damaging the rug by scrubbing too much. I rented a rug dr that worked like that, great for more delicate area rugs that I wanna scrub/ wipe by hand. It was so versatile
@TheFrenchGlow

The hydrosteam has a quick dry mode that is mainly to extract water without adding more. This mode is not as aggressive as deep clean. For the 2x revolution, the brushes still spin fast on express clean mode but as long as you do not press the trigger, you will be mainly extracting and not adding solution. Comparing both and all things being equal , the revolution hydrosteam dries fast relative to other carpet cleaners under $500.
@Katursaurusrex
@Katursaurusrex 10 ай бұрын
Thanks! Forgot a word in my question so I edited it. So the brushes still spin on the rug while the machine is extracting the water solution, right? The rug Dr I used worked similarly but when I was not pulling the trigger it just extracted and the brushes didn't spin.

I know that not using distilled water in floor steamers can be really problematic. With the addition of steam, is there any concern about not using distilled water in the machine?
@TheFrenchGlow
@TheFrenchGlow Жыл бұрын
hi! I have not used distilled water on my unit but if you have very hard water, I can see the potential for having to occasionally descale your unit. The Bissell does not require distilled water so it should be covered by warranty if any issues within the warranty period from using tap or filtered water. You can go through a tank very quickly on steam max clean so it would less economical as well.

So is the hydrosteam still better if I have 3 little dogs. Lots of hairballs on the floor with my last steam cleaner. As long as it doesn't get jammed where the steamer is located. I saw reviews of lots of debris jamming near the steamer has that been a problem for u? Even after vacuuming there is still a lot of hair not picked up. Is not being able to take the brush roll out a problem for u too? Thank u for ur comparison it helps a lot !

@TheFrenchGlow

Hi! Works well on shag rugs as long as the shag is not too loose. And I would not use it as a regular vacuum as hair, dust bunnies, and pet hair will get caught. You want to vacuum before you use the carpet cleaner. Hope that helps!

@TheFrenchGlow
@TheFrenchGlow 11 ай бұрын
Hi! You want to vacuum first to remove as much debris and hair before you wash your carpet. The hydrosteam will get deeper into the carpet fibers because of its large brushrolls to remove any leftover hairs. The hairs will normally clump up so you can remove it by hand when you clean the cover.

hi! in this case, its the subflooring you have to worry about. Any water will cause the urine smell to seep inside. (I had this same experience as I raised cats for my entire life). You need to use a dry powder - carpet cleaner first. Then afterwards use the bissell.

Which one is best for what we all need this for: DOG PEE? I am now thinking that because the steam cleaner version gets deeper into the fibers than the other and from other reviews seems to suction better, the steam cleaner is the way to go. Am I correct? I’m looking to buy this in the near future. Also any recommendations for a good solution that leaves a nice smell. I’ve used several enzyme ones mixed with the febreeze bissell solution, but any recommendations for something better would be greatly appreciated. The enzyme brands I’ve used have been the minty one from Amazon and also the nature’s miracle. Anyone know a good solution kind that works in the tank and not a spot treater spray kind? I’ve got an older female dog who is trying to win best in show for destroyer of carpets. 😂

Hi! Steam will help clean the fibers deeper and more effectively. In your case, if I had to pick one, if the revolution hydrosteam is within $50 - $75 of the proheat model, I would opt for the hydrosteam. The hydrosteam also dries faster in my testing.
