This chart shows the Bitcoin price over time color coded by the Fear & Greed Index. The Fear & Greed Index analyzes emotions as well as the Bitcoin market sentiment and crunches those numbers into a simple meter from 0 to 100. 0 means "Extreme Fear", while 100 means "Extreme Greed". The different factors that are included in calculating the Index are: Volatility (25%), Market Momentum/Volume (25%), Social Media (15%), Surveys (15%) (currently paused), Dominance (10%), Google Trends (10%)

Bitcoin going into ETF’s also won’t bleed off into Alt Coins like previous cycles. Money goes into ETF’s won’t come back out to put into Alt Coins.

That’s not how BTC “bleeds” into alts. The new BTC money that’s responsible for the price rise never then goes into alts, it’s the older btc holders that are then richer that diversify into alts. Maybe the effect you’re talking about will be present next cycle but not this one.

@BenjaminCowin why are you relating QE and QT as interest rates going up or down. QE / QT is not interest rates, QE / QT is the Central Bank adding Treasuries to its balance sheet or taking them off their balance sheet, so you should use "Global Liquidity" as the metric on a tradingview chart if you want to show QE and QT on the chart with your Bitcoin Chart... may i ask why you used interest rates and not global liquidity or even M2 on your chart ?

I have entire videos on that. We currently have QT and higher interest rates. I am not relating them. They are happening at the same time. Powell said it is possible they may lower rates but not increase their balance sheet.

I wonder how the fear and greed index correlates to the risk metric. I'd imagine quite close and I wonder if that's a relationship worth looking into?

The risk metric is unknown, so it makes no sense to compare them. For all we know the fear and greed index is incorporated into the calculation. The most notable difference is how quickly the F&G index changes, whilst the risk metric seems more stable. Take a look at for example august of 2020, or late 2020, where F&C was already at highs long before BTC reached its actual highs. And januari 2022 where it bottomed long before actual lows.

This metric was not availible in 2016- as in video. Gold etf was approved in 2003

I more and more think this is just a distraction for someone that just wants to hodl. If you bought during the F&G 90 at 17k you are 300% from there. If you want to trade btc then maybe you can read something from it, but why bother? :P

Ben, what about instead of altcoin liquidity is flowing back to Bitcoin (which is not surprising), and NEW liquidity is flowing in Bitcoin. I know you are not a man of placing news on top of TA, you certainly keep an eye open for events, who wouldn't? ETF wise, just humor me on this: This is the first bull market that is NOT retail driven all the way, so new money is flowing into BTC as we speak, not just money from alts, but new cash from different entities. You said that it will probably play out different, like all cycles however are you taking that into consideration?
