It’s time for an updated Bitdefender review! It’s a veteran provider that you will find on almost every BEST antivirus list. But how good is it really in 2024?

🔑 Is Bitdefender easy to use?

The installation wasn’t the quickest, but it’s nothing difficult, just a few clicks here and there. Quite a standard process. After launching the app, I was met with a pleasant to-the-eye user interface, which is easy to use. Everything is neatly organized within sections that make sense.

🔎 Malware tests

I planted 10 malicious files on my PC and ran a full scan, with real-time protection turned off. Bitdefender full scan caught 8 out of 10 threats. It took around 11 minutes, but it wasn’t super heavy on my computer resources, so I’m happy about that.

Besides the basic system scan options, I found quite a few more useful functions. There’s the fancy-named Advanced Threat Defense and a Vulnerability Scan. The security bundle also includes a Ransomware Mitigation tool, which I used to create backups of my most important files.

✏️ Additional Bitdefender features

Bitdefender has a VPN and a password manager, so it’s a good option if you want to check off all 3 boxes at once. The password manager doesn’t have any extras, but it does the job well. However, I’m not a huge fan of the Bitdefender VPN. If you get it with the cheaper antivirus plan, there’s a 200MB data limit, which can run out in one browsing session. To be able to fully experience this tool, you’re gonna have to invest in the premium version.

As an antivirus, Bitdefender stands as a formidable contender whether you are a beginner or experienced user. It offers user-friendly navigation, robust protection against diverse malware, and substantial value through its useful features. While I wish for a more comprehensive iOS version and a slightly higher data limit on their VPN, overall, I can definitely recommend Bitdefender!

I would recommend trying Bitdefender, Norton or other reputable antivirus since Windows Defender might not be secure enough.

I cancelled my account and the card I used expired. I noticed in my other account and they took money out of it. I never used this card with this account. I don't understand how they got my other account. I placed a complaint to see if I can get my money back. I no longer want it.

In terms of safety, yes. Bitdefender catches a significantly higher percentage of viruses while testing.

Had the Ultimate put on a laptop, Windows started screaming on Bitdefender app running after somehow after S mode susabled and updates S mode was back .... weird shit ! Thats on MS tho ! Then on a Samsung Android after having Birdefrnder installed with vpn, Hotspot cannot be activated, doesn’t give options or clarity to fix. VPN needs be disabled so hotspot can bs used again...

I have a question.............Does Bitdefender constantly try to sell you more 💩 like Norton does? I have Norton and am sick of the popups I get trying to sell me more 💩. So, I'm looking for an anti-virus program that isn't gonna constantly spam me with their added garbage and then it slows my computer down to nearly freezing it up until I try closing the pop up. I'm on the hunt for a new program. They even had the nerve to hit my credit card more than a month before it expires.

I'm using norton , it doesn't have any issue with pop-up. Do follow steps 1. Go to norton Wizards, Turn off feature setup into classic 2. Check your norton account turn off marketing and other setting may be it also found in norton setup 3. In India, its very cheap 4. No need to buy plan, just turn off renew and go with renewal code buy it and use it when it says your plan will expire in next 12 days.

Yes. They bombard you with notifications that are pretty much impossible to cancel out completly. And there is not a way to just cancel autorenewal. You have to email the douchebags. Just canceled my subscription. Norton was way better.

Windows 10 and 11 don't need AV no more. Windows Defender itself is more than enough. Its proved. Unless you are using Windows 7

Idk dude. Bitdefender literally sits onto your computer like an elephant. High RAM/CPU usage on idle, some people encountered with memory leaks and more. I currently use Norton 360 and... honestly I'm very happy with it. It has a really bad reputation on forums, reddit, etc. but I used Norton before, like 1-1.5 years and never encountered a single problem, also never got infected.
