Danzel got the part of the song that is more boring while Madrid got the part that was the climax. Both are amazing dancers.

@@dvlarry It was reversed for the first round though. Danzel,arguably had the more interesting section of the song while Marid had a non dynamic section. This is why Wizzard works as a Dj, he balances the rounds so well. I hope thats also not an excuse, because Marid did the same exact groove Danzel did on the the same rhythm, but rode it much better, even the crowd cheered louder during that section.

Love the spirit!!!! How both of them enjoy the music and, dance like they’re dancing, not just competing But also connecting, jamming on a deeper level. That’s the attitude, the soul of waacking: to be seen, to show yourself and to love each other, despite the oppression and hates and discrimination. Love it. Thanks to them both, for this amazing performance.

Marid and her approach to battling is MAD underrated. She paces her rounds so well and builds such a strong performance every time. She’s not the flashiest dancer, but she definitely is one of the smartest. Congrats Marid ! Danzels athleticism is also so impressive ! Great battle this year!

I was told of Marid's victory before watching this video, so I thought this beautiful slender lady would turn on her super saiyan mode in this game (considering she need to do something beyond Danzel whose physical ability is soooo strong), however, I must say... imo i thought danzel won these rounds but this is the final so i think the whole competition is taken into consideration when choosing the winner and marid had some good previous battles before the final

First round Danzel won because he seemed to know the song better but second round Marid definitely won. She encompassed disco, soul and the essence of waacking with her dance and she has so much versatility and elegance; her dance is like watching a work of art. I think it could’ve gone either way but honestly Marid felt the strongest throughout the competition.

@@snafufubar3701 i'm talking about the finals. idk how they do it in korea but the competitions i've watched in the states have the judges deliberate after a final. if it was based only on the round, the mc would've had the judges just vote on the spot like they do the other rounds

@@slimbu8136 i agree it could've gone either way and marid did deserve to win based on the whole competition for me. i see an argument for marid having more tech and musicality in the 2nd round, but i just don't think she evoked the song other than it being disco. the crowd looked disconnected from marid and even danzel that second song. the essence of waacking for me is about rebelling and reclaiming power. that's why it was called punking in the past

it did feel like the semi final songs suited Marid way more than the final songs did, while Danzel managed to get his best output from the first song I think Danzel lost some power with the second song, when his first round was so dominating he himself couldn't get to that level again so quickly

You know I watch this in two different videos. I love Marid but the best dancer that night was Danzel. It amaze me that in each battle he wack different . Sometimes in a battle it was more Jazz and straighter arms for wacking and in others more fluidity. I became a fan . I look at his other battles must have a lot of Jazz in his background. That first round artistry all the way from him. The crowd were wow. It was not Marid night. The first song for her the judges were not impressed look at their faces. She was upset and Danzel look like he really would not dance dance that second round. They seem to care about each other a lot. They have battle before. I saw the one in Japan. He beat her to get to finals. She battle him before and won. But Danzel right up there with Jaemin and Babyzoo and a Jaymin in pure dance ability .Madrid is a beautiful dancer. Just amazing was just not her night. Danzel should have won with that first battle alone.But he was so happy for her
