Here's a Sony Dream Machine Digital Clock Radio (ca. 1989) that still working close to 30 years after manufacture. Model number ICF-C240. It was misbehaving, so I used that as an excuse to crack it open and took a peek inside. This clock radio is surprisingly well built (except for the antenna (?) coil), and has excellent audio on FM rx. The inside of the clock isn't that exciting, just two chips -- one that runs the clock, and one that runs the radio ("clock-radio" confirmed). The PCB was well labeled, something quite rare in today's consumer electronics. I checked for shorted caps, and gave it a quick cleaning with 70% isopropyl alcohol (almost 30 year old flux residue). It seems to work again after that.
Ok fine, this video was really a trial-run of a dual-camera setup (near the end).
