Story line:
" I stared at the orange flames that came from the burning wood in the fireplace. The sounds of crackling complemented this beautiful picture that one could look at forever. A snowstorm was raging outside the window, and snow flakes were flying past the window at great speed. The clock struck midnight and I suddenly realized that it was time to go to bed. But before that, I needed to unfold the sofa, which was located by the window. I removed the radio from the sofa, then moved the cushions along the edges, and pulled the bottom part towards me. When I reached for the back of the sofa, which needed to be folded down, I suddenly saw a small red box in the bottom drawer. The box was very beautiful, made of velvet and decorated with sparkling stones. I was very curious what this box was. The house I was in was rented by me for this weekend, and such a discovery seemed very strange here. Then I sat down on the floor near the fireplace, and could not bring myself to open it. After a couple of minutes, my curiosity won, and I lifted the lid of the box and set it aside. In the box I saw a certain bundle of dark green silk fabric with patterns and monograms, neatly embroidered with golden thread. It was noticeable that there was something in this bundle, quite large and weighty. Judging by the high cost of the box and the folded fabric, I got the impression that there was something very valuable there. I was a little awkward and even scared to unwrap the package, then my hand reached out to the lid of the box and I quickly closed it. The thought flashed through my head that I should call the owner of this house and give him the box. Then I thought for a long time what could be in it. I was puzzled, because on the one hand I wanted to know what was in the package, and on the other hand I understood that I could see something that I shouldn’t see. I made myself some tea, then sipped it slowly and thought about the find for a long time. I looked back at the clock; the clock hands showed half past two in the morning. At that moment, I clearly realized that I should not unwrap the package, but should call the owner of the house in the morning. I put the box on the nightstand and went to bed.
