What about those who use bad language with wives? Emotional abuse is as bad as physical abuse.what about those who say to their wives to get out of the house? Isn't it humiliating? What about those men who threaten their wives that they will divorce them. All these things are worse than beating a wife, more common. Please address these issues. The realtionship of husband and wife should be of respect . Respect does not mean men are not in control rather treating them with dignity, not being rude, not scolding like our prophet peace be upon him treated his wives. When we describe the huqooq of wife there are numerous ayahs in Quran which can be quoted, these are missed here in this lecture. We need those ayahs to be included from surah Albaqarah, surah Nisa, surah At talaq , surah Nur ( how big sin is to slander a woman). The heights of these ayahs is waaa shiroohunna bil maroof which means live with them in good manner and we all know what is good manner. And the best husband was prophet peace be upon him, so from his life examples should be included in lecture. Actually our culture dominates so much that we confuse it with islam.prophet peace be upon him said he loves women which was a clear indication that women are to be loved and respected and numerous examples from seerah. We usually don't talk about them. I believe this lecture is good but a lot more can be done to improve awareness in men. Also how prophet peace be upon him never thought women are to serve and men to sit. He used to work with them, in general he liked to do his work with his hands, never asked anyone to pick his whip, helped sahabah whenever he gave them any task. So using hands is not against the dignity of men rather sunnah so if they lift their own crying child or drink water by themselves or cleans something on floor, there is no harm nor it makes them inferior.this is culture rather than Islam, and we need to teach are boys to serve their parents by themselves and learn to help themselves to do little little tasks like sometimes warming food , it's good to be independent rather than like children who cannot help themselves.
