I remember that time very well, too. Tilahun’s and Bizuye’s studio recording aired at that time. Also, the young Aregahegne Worashe’s yagerbetua gubil played a lot on TV at that time. You brought back great memories with your lovely comment.

That was the exact time I left Ethiopia. The time was a week before the Dergue government banned driving cars or vehicles every Sunday.

What’s unbelievable about this song is how modern it sounds, except for the keyboards it’s 2021. What pipes, though, I’ve never even met anyone Ethiopian in my life but this lady is something else, Abyssinia’s gift to humanity.

What a voice! Ten times better than the famous motown girls without the training or the budget. The sixties was truly Ethiopian camelot, the style, the talent & the lyrics was such a high standard and truly original. You are a legend your timeless golden voice will be enjoyed by many for years to come. May you rest in eternal peace.

she's amazing, I've never met a single Ethiopiam but I love Bekele. Not much known about her, though, how come she died so young?

Bizunesh Bizuye is one of the best admired musician and I liked this music more when I heard she played the music for her heartful love for the beloved Artist Bealu Girma. Do you know that most of her wonderful musics of love and critics are musics behind her real love for the most handsome and the most well known Artist Bealu Girma?

I wish our new musicians realize that there's nothing like being original..just beacuse the world seems like its moving too fast musically, doesn't mean that we have to follow their lead. we can learn from our legedary singers like Bizuye, that as long as you stay true to your own talent, even time won't restrict you from rising. We Ethiopians have so much to give if we could just stop copying what the westerns do
@ethiodecency64204 жыл бұрын
Hermela abera..... I can’t agree with you more! It may seem like the world is moving too fast musically, but the truth is the contrary. Golden age of music has long past in western societies, as well as Ethiopia. We are not looking at the likes of Marvin Gaye, Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday, Luis Armstrong, Michael Jackson, Duke Ellington, Cesaria Evora, Ali Farka Toure, Mariam Makeba, Kassa Tesema, Tilahun Gessese, Bizuyea........ coming to existence. Popular culture is what picks musicians than pure talent and dedication. Ethiopian music has an element of uniqueness in it’s original form. Instead of nurturing it, we seem to run away from it more and more. Buzuyea can sing. Looking at this video, it is not just her voice, her whole body(hair to toe) sings. You can sense her personality with in her tone. RIP
