@johnlong8082
@johnlong8082 2 жыл бұрын
@@Veyron1967 Not really, they left him to struggle on in what could have been a good interview. Instead, he tried to promote his own self-importance and puerile humour and failed to understand and respect their mega achievements in the pop world. I’m not a massive fan of their music but their incredible success cannot be denied.
@Veyron1967
@Veyron1967 2 жыл бұрын
@@johnlong8082 I wouldn't doubt their success, but that shouldn't earn automatic respect - Midge Ure I respect, Barry Gibb - not so much. I'm afraid Barry took himself far too seriously and most people who watched that interview would think he was a bit of a tw*t. Bjork handled Anderson's humour by turning it back on him - and it worked. Everybody loves her, even if they don't like her music.
@johnlong8082
@johnlong8082 2 жыл бұрын
@@Veyron1967 You cannot compare Bjork with the global success of the Bee Gees, not to mention their longevity. They were good enough to appear on this show but were disrespected by Anderson. As for turning the joke back on the interviewer, why bother? I mean, who is Clive Anderson? He is a minnow in the sea compared to the Bee Gees and either he did not understand that or he thought he was bigger. They put him in his place. End of story.

Problem is even though USA is the major country that uses the celeb industry to dumb down society, trying to get people to admire talentless trash worse than most people, where the media has people who talk in dumb voices acting excited about the attention seeing schemes of useless idiots, so people lower their standards, but it also gets spread to other nations. Luckily Iceland hadn't been taken over by it then.

It is one of the best interviews done. Björks humor is very unappreciated, and Clive worked well with her. Unfortunately her wisdom joke in "I have a stupid side, and a grownup side[...] and the other side do grownup things like drinking[..]" fell on deaf ears. I don't blame him for getting all lolita hungry, when he was talking about "You want to do more today", and "you look 15 or at least 16.". She is irresitible, when in this extroverted flirtatious mood with her knee stockings and child like enthusiasm and innocence, that is very nordic.

Her awareness of life and the human condition is as if she's lived a life before. She's incredibly intelligent and was conciously trying to live it rather than just talk it. What a dweeb. He was low-key pushing her buttons with saying she looks 15, 16, or when he says Iceland has the population of Cardiff. You protect your little turf boy, show her who's boss! And of course, she owned him completely when she analzyed how in Britain, everything is understated. Absolutely spot on observation about the core and nature of British culture and humor, that's reflected in, as she says, even in architecture. Smart, sweet woman. Good natured. People like that always get dunces like this goof here trying to rile them up out of envy that someone is ahead of them, is comfortable in their skin, not malicious AND, and this is the biggie, not cynical.
