Becoming 100% comfortable with being alone is like a superpower. It's tough at first cause you feel lonely, but after you overcome that you kinda feel invincible. It's liberating and you get WAYYYY more stuff done. And you get to do exactly what you want to do.

Monty's attitude stinks. She thinks she's the end all and be all of the conversations. She thinks everything she says holds more weight than the others. How dare she tries to invalidate Lani and Guh Deh's opinions like someone died and made her queen. She had no right to insinuate why Guh Deh's past friendships ended like it was facts or very personal to her. She needs to learn how to keep her opinions diplomatic and not incorporate too much of her personal biased feelings into it. She doesn't know them personally or what they're going through so her insensitivity and gaslighting tactics came off quite narcissistic.

People in the comments saying that they’re proud they don’t have friends, and happy to be alone and not get too close to people/investing in friendships are a waste of time etc. are missing the point. In life, friendship is a beautiful thing and should be treasured. You should be open to making friends and investing at least some time/energy to getting to know people and having meaningful relationships. Yes, sometimes you will be hurt by people, but that’s expected in life. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try maintaining friendships because you’d be missing out on a beautiful part of life. You could meet amazing people who could enrich your life by just giving it a chance. And of course, you can still be independent and focus on yourself at the same time.

Making friends from the age of 10 - 18 is very different from making friends from the age of 19 - 30 years old. Using the term 'Friend' or 'Friendship' shouldn't be used loosely because it makes individuals look desperate and easily-persuaded/vulnerable. Not every friendship should be treasured, more time you have to be distance and just hang out/associate with acquaintances that you usually socialize with because nowadays 'friendship' is more than just "hanging out", if anything happened to you such as you getting lost in a city. Which friend would you call first, second and third? And would they pick up and start finding you out of their house at night or midnight? 90% of the people that I speak with can't answer that .

I’m ngl, with the “friends have to share your content/project etc” both sides make sense to a degree. I don’t feel comfortable forcing my friends and family to support my stuff if it’s not their kinda thing because then it’s not genuine but *ultimately* , if you’re somebody’s friend and you love them you will find a way to support whether it’s sharing it or mentioning it with or to someone who might be interested etc or even encouraging them…if you love or value someone you will find a way to make them feel supported. This was a very good discussion though. 💯

People usually say that you have to be friends with your partner for the relationship to truly work and I feel like a friendship bond is way way stronger that a romantic one, which is why it hurts the most. During breakups, people mourn for that lost friendship, which is essentially the same type of relationship someone would have with a best friend, sans that romantic stuff, like kissing, dates and sex (for some). But it’s that bond broken. the late night calls, leaning on each other and telling each other your deepest, darkest secrets. It will most definitely hurt more if you’ve formed and established a close friendship with anyone, even with a partner if they were your friend before they were your partner.

In life you're not going to be friends with certain people forever. Put it this way if you go on public transport. It has a destination to go to. During that destination it makes many stops some of those stops you'll meet people that will either get off the same stop as you or they will get off earlier. So there is no point saying it hurts losing a friend. Unless they lost their life physically that's the only time it is suitable to get in your feelings about losing a friend.

10:12 - 10:18 100%. And it's sad cause those people you don't even fall out with & they've never wronged you. But the friendship just comes to an end because you guys have just grown apart. I've got like 10 of those, I've only actually fell out properly with one friend.

You can’t stay friends because of loyalty 💯 …your friend is clearly toxic today but because they had your back that one time, 4.5 years ago, you’re holding on 🙄 !! You don’t owe anyone anything.

The word has become so normalised. Having a disagreement isn't 'toxicity.' There's no such thing as a little toxicity, it's healthy or it's toxic. People need to stop using words they don't understand.

I never experienced that because I'm already dealing with abandonment issues from not one mother but two biological/ adopted. Already messed up potential friendships I dont allow people completely in my life. Added once it ends it's easy to let go because don't have any expectations because I expect it to end soon. 🥺

I hear what Guh deh is saying no one should ever feel obligated to repost anything your friends doing unless you want to. They could be doing other things outside social media to show there support does not make you a bad friend if you don’t post it on net. Monty coming for him like that just because he didn’t agree was very much not needed and gave mean girl vibes. I doubt she knows Guh deh personally outside the show.

I really have time for this one still, but the issue is in this day and age, no one takes the time to teach your friend how to be your friend, and for those that do, that’s why it hurts so much because you should know better one, and secondly, you know me!

I realised i cant really build deep relationships , most of them are just on the surface. And im fine with that. I did lose a friend of 10 years but u got to realise having "best" friends is dangerous, they know too much and if the friendship ends they can use that as a weapon. Thats why no one will know too much bout me. Ppl come and go in ur life as ur changing. U may get new job, u may move cities etc, so u will meet new ppl and create new relationships

11:37 - 11:55 This exact thing happened to me. Had a tight 3-man friendship group from primary. Went secondary & 2 ppl got added, that was cool. Then another 3 got added & it got torn apart. Fallouts, separate group chats, sides picked etc. The initial 2 that got added were close to all 3 of us, so that's why I think they blended in seamlessly. The next 3 that got added were only close to some of us so the separation happened from there. I could see it happen as it was happening but what could I do? it's not like I could kick the 3 guys out cause others in the friendship group already welcomed them in. So I just distanced myself from all of them. I couldn't do the drama.
