You have asked a very interesting question. Sacrificing oneself for someone is indeed one of the myths of true love. Indeed, the question must be allowed whether this is really good. For oneself and for the other person. We try to educate people to be selfless because our social structure needs togetherness to survive, but for some people it also leads to them not learning to love themselves. If you don't love yourself, you are usually not able to love others - then the interaction with others is just a mask with sometimes very ugly aspects.

@@ElleneNoireII I like that you said "myths of true love". For me, the ending of The Director Who Buys Me Dinner was beyond sad and even, for me personally, wrong. What was the point of all those lifetimes if he was willing to erase it all in the blink of an eye? Does that make his love stronger, better, ultimately the best choice? The sacrifice certainly did not include his lover's thoughts and feelings, so to me his actions were completely selfish and one-sided. It had been such a quaint, adorable show up until that point. Then it just left a bad taste in the mouth, as if an exquisite recipe had been used but one ingredient was spoiled. This is all just my opinion, of course

My amazement grows… just wandering through your videos, wondering which ones I left comments on, and read these comments. How is it so appropriate that I find your comment here? Find it just after explaining the dilemma I had with a 1/2 million $ life Insurance policy. Bizarre to the extreme. I do love the bizarre. Yes… sacrifice for love IS a myth. ❤️😍🥰😘💋. (Except the sacrifice necessary to fight the destruction from evil… we don’t do that then no one exists)

@@ElleneNoireII 🙃 KISSABLE LIPS didn't have a good ending and so FROM NOW TO THE PAST, A ROUND TRIP TO LOVE and I think BOYS LOVE ended also sad. But even it ended sad I really like the short film FROM NOW TO THE PAST. Life isn't always happiness and good endings. I know. 🤧

Je suis heureux que vous ayez aimé. Vous ne devriez pas être trop sensible à ce sujet - mais je l'aime aussi dramatique. C'est bien connu. Au fait : mon programme de traduction choisit tantôt vous, tantôt tu dans le discours - ce n'est sans doute pas si simple pour la technique - la plupart du temps, je suis trop paresseuse pour le corriger dans une forme. J'espère que tu te sens interpellé comme tu le souhaiterais.

That's a bloody good question. There are a lot of thoughts running through my head that I have to separate into two cathegories (real life and literary myth). In real life, our brain is so overwhelmed with stress hormones in life-threatening situations that we mechanically fall into one of three reaction patterns, depending on our personality: Flight, attack or freeze. All this serves to protect our lives and not those of the other person, no matter how much we love them. For this reason, what happens in the series is relatively rare. What happens very often in real life, however, is that people constantly sacrifice themselves for others in everyday things: for children, parents, partners and forget themselves in the process. They let themselves be treated like mill buckets and taken advantage of. This is unhealthy and ends up damaging the relationship and also the other person. They lose respect and it can go as far as hatred, because others end up evaluating us the way we evaluate ourselves. This is toxic and harms everyone. Literarily, giving one's life for one's beloved is a classic myth (myth of true love, otherwise one has not really loved) and literarily, the rescued person definitely does not wish that. That person would have done exactly the same in that situation. If they are unlucky, they have to live on without the beloved person and with feelings of guilt - it couldn't be worse. In other words, extremely selfish - in literary terms. In real life, however, people are too attached to their lives and would continue to live with feelings of guilt, but still grateful. Of course, this is just my opinion, observation and basic psychology.

@@ElleneNoireII nothing to with giving my life for others but I was kicked out wen i was15 old from my house for being bi. My parents and sister and relatives just stopped talking to me. The only one who helped was my brother he's 10 years older and had just got married but took me in. He stopped talking with my parents and our sister and rest of the family for me. He and his wife were and are amazing. But then they had kids who didn't know their grandparents. So I decided to leave to another country and take me out of the equation. I thought I was being selfless that whithout me he could reconnect. My brother understood my motivation but he doesn't see it the same way he sometimes thinks I being selfish. So what am I? Everything depends on perspective. Honestly sometimes I don't know selfless or selfish? Brave or coward? This video made me think of this.

Now I understand the problem a little better. Of course, everything is a question of perspective. If your brother benefited from your move and you didn't at all, many would probably call it selflessness. But you write that your brother didn't understand your decision - would he rather have you close to him and his children than his parents? If that were the case, your decision is difficult to understand. Unless you have benefited from moving to Portugal, e.g. by being able to live more freely there etc. Then many would probably say that's selfish. But my opinion on the subject of egoism is quite clear: egoism is healthy and many people need more of it, not less. You need to love yourself enough to make right decisions for you and not for others. That's what I tried to express in my email before. When we suppress our own needs too much, people become emotional cripples - strong, unmet needs always find their way out and in strange and destructive ways - sometimes as depression and self-destruction, sometimes as destruction of other people. If we think more of others than of ourselves, others do not thank us. Long story: you should think more about yourself, make decisions that are good for you, not for others. If you feel better in Africa, go back. That's just my opinion, of course. Hug yourself, kiss yourself, stay healthy.

The lyrics of the song "New Heros" also fit to some extent, it's about time and heroes, but primarily I used the dance scenes to increase the dynamic of the video. Thank you for the specific question, this is something that is rarely asked.

I'm a fan of your editions, my God, holy shit, what music, my lady.
