We're a week or so away from the release of Black Adam, so what better way to celebrate the new Black Adam movie than to cover the story where Black Adam absolutely demolished the super hero community in DC Comics with World War III. Picking up off the last video we did, the country of Bialya stands in ruin. The death toll is staggering. In every direction, the corpses of millions literal the ground. The tapestry of blood, pain and destruction knit by the bottomless rage of one man. Black Adam. With the ending of his wife Isis and her brother Osiris, the Black Marvel Family has been destroyed. Having taken his vengeance, Black Adam turns an eye toward China to find the people who are truly responsible for the death of his loved ones...and the World is foolish enough to stand in his way.
▸ What is World War III: The title World War III was also used in 2007 for a four-issue mini-series that tells the story of Black Adam's rage against humanity after his family was murdered, and he can only be stopped when the entire superhero community rallies together. The limited series was a tie into DC's weekly comic book series, 52, occurring on "Week 50" of the series, which takes place during the missing year following Infinite Crisis.

Reading Hawkman I came across a story where Carter Hall (Hawkman) goes to an archeological excavation site in Kahndaq. As soon as he realizes what the hieroglyphics mean he panics. Before he has time to do or say anything Black Adam shows up and simply tells him and everyone else to leave. That they have exactly 1 hour to do so. Hawkman was like: "........Alright everybody let's go!" Lol they were digging up the tomb of Black Adams family which he then covered right back up in 1 Hulk like thunder clap. Black Adam indeed doesn't mess around.

Black Adam reminds me of Namor the Submariner -- they even look alike and Not only that but they both are willing to die to protect their people as well as their kingdoms; even if they have to spill blood; in the Legend of the Blue Marvel, Namor states when the surface attacked, he made them pay for every drop of Atlantean blood; similarly with this story the Martian Man Hunter claims it was only a few who were responsible for the loss of his family yet Black Adam went on a murder spree and made them pay for every drop of blood.

Tbf most instances in which MM should end the story in the first meeting normally end up with him being clapped or some other plot device. People say superman is the strongest, but MM quite literally has to be nerfed for certain storylines to continue. (I'm aware that on occasion superman is nerfed as well) but in terms of abilities and powers MM merks (base) superman maybe mid difficulty, possibly easier. It's a shame because MM is one of my favourite characters, but the renewed hyped around Black adam has definitely elevated his popularity with me.

@@justchillin806 It's very hard to be a MM fan. Because he's so badly nerfed pretty much anytime he's not on the role of an antagonist, he's basically as useless as he is powerful. The only character who out scales him as far as power and uselessness is Spectre. No disrespect to Black Adam, who I am also a huge fan of, but properly written WW3 should have ended right there.

It's a different Terra from an alt timeline, that fought Black Adam. She's like a future clone of the original Terra, and had came back to the past with the "Team Titans" to save the future from Donna Troy's kid. The Evil Original Terra killed herself back in the Judas Contract in the 80s, while trying to kill Deathstroke and the Titans for not being evil like her.

The Terra from an alternate timeline of actually an alien shapeshifter from underneath the Earth who has no memories of her original life because the Time Trapper mindwiped her.

Originally tho, she was just a girl that resembled Terra, so Lord Chaos had her surgically altered into actually looking like Terra, injected the dead Terra's DNA into her to give her powers, then implanted memories into her to make her their spy. She was more or less turned into a clone of Terra, even though she wasn't technically cloned from her.

For example he has reset the entire universe by running but he can't just go back in time and stop black Adam from discovering his powers and be done with it all in seconds. They did the same thing when they had the story where Allen Scott never found the lantern and became the original green lantern. It's probably because flash is just that op that the writers feel a need to nerf him because he would just wipe the slate for anyone that can't topple his speed. Think about it if flash went back in time Adam wouldn't be able to one keep up with him to stop him and two he wouldn't be able to even do anything once he's in the speed force it's that simple.

@@razor3535 this was way before flashpoint if you are not aware and you do realize zoom is constantly traveling through time messing with the timelines yet he doesn't create flashpoints whenever he does so which goes to show the inconsistency of that argument and in addition to that you do realize that flash doesn't need time travel to topple black Adam right? He's so fast that he could infinitely land blows on Adam without Adam being able to do anything about it that is how far removed Adam Is in comparison to the flash he's significantly slower than Barry to the point where it's not even funny how much faster he is. You can beat something that you can't touch much less see. Not only that Barry could just steal all his energy and that be that and you seem to forget if Adam used the Shazam word on Barry he'd be able to react fast enough just to catch him when he's depowered and kill him or incapacitate him and on top of that Barry arguably could literally wipe out the Egyptian pantheon of gods altogether if he wanted to the only people who could topple Barry is someone who can alter time at a severely fast pace because by the time the thought even passes through their brain they would be dead simple really. It comes down to this flash is simply too fast that's the end of it.

@@Techo333_ Nobody said Flash needed time travel to beat Black Adam, that was literally the solution that you yourself presented. That entire brick of text was a straw man; you said "why didn't he time travel," I said "because that could make things much worse." Does not matter if this was before or after flashpoint, the risk is still present.

@@razor3535 to correct you it entirely does matter because prior to crisis and even after there had been time travel where things had been changed and there was no event like flashpoint therefore making my argument entirely valid one instance of this is when Superman flew so fast he went through time another one even after crisis was when darkside out batman in the past removing him from the modern landscape and that still didn't create a ripple effect like In flashpoint so it does matter as there are much more occasions in which similar actions such as flash going back to save his mom that have happened and haven't had the same end result which means you are wrong by assuming there would automatically be a flashpoint paradox due to him killing black Adam or simply not allowing him to come in contact with the Egyptian gods. This is because flashpoint was needed as way to reset the dc landscape simply removing adam doesn't mean that it's guaranteed to happen as we seen dozen of time before that it's not a guaranteed outcome whatsoever meaning you are wrong in assuming that his actions would create a event like flashpoint

@@razor3535 also he was about to topple the whole planet and literally had to pull out all the stops to beat Adam how is the flash traveling back in time anymore Risker than Adam taking on all the jla and killing them a safer outcome? If it wasn't for some major plot armor Adam would've killed them all how is that not worth any risk at that point? Remember this is a guy who obliterated someone who is arguably stronger than Superman in martian manhunter and pissed as hell. You don't worry about the risks when you are certain that the outcome is far worse.

Black adam is that powerful, one of his flaws is that he only really cares about running his country and almost nothing else. With his power he could literally Injustice the whole DC universe
