BS! For one, the leg was looped in Claudio's arm. Claudio would have had to remove his arm before the knee could be torqued. Secondly, CC's knee was straight and not in danger. Third, the constant interference and restarts by IBJJF ref's is more than an annoyance. It impedes the pace of the match and contributes to a boring result.

Dois dos grandes atletas do jiu jitsu, porém toda via, ap decorrer do combate Calazans busca a luta, em pé e tererê, puxa pra guarda e tenta raspar, depois disso tererê, não responde aos ataques de Calazans, e o mesmo ganha uma vantagem, na luta, Calazans vendo que as tentativas em pé estavam deixando a luta meio que parada, puxa tererê e consegue a raspagem, depois disso, é importante entender da regra, tererê ao ser raspado faz uma guarda onde seu pé passa da linha do quadril, de seu adversário, colocando o joelho de Calazans, numa situação desconfortável, o que na regra da cbjj ibjjf, diz que o atleta deve ser punido, com desclassificação, muzio interrompe a luta e coloca os atletas no centro do tatame, o que na verdade dando uma chance ao tererê tirar o pé do local, mas o mesmo continua forçando, o joelho de Cláudio, é punido pelo árbitro, e mesmo assim continua com a perna no local errado e é desclassificado!

Why does the knee reap rule exist? Who are they protecting at the black belt level? If you're a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu, and you want to take part in a Jiu Jitsu competition, you should be willing to to throw down, no submission holds barred. Neck Cranks, heel hooks, all of it.

haha regardless of the spoiler comments below , thank you for posting this match. even though it appears from the different jiu jitsu related news websites , publications etc etc , that they were more concerned with the brown belt matches ( which is totally an awesome in its own right ! =) that nobody really mentioned a most excellent return to IBJJF tournaments ; Terere in the finals once again !!

Não teve erro na arbitragem, alem de já ter sido advertido, continuou na posição ilegal pela regra, e só quem já sofreu uma lesão no joelho por estar nessa posição sabe a importância da regra visando preservar a integridade física de cada atleta... mesmo desclassificado não tirou o brilho de ver o Terere voltar a uma final ...Oss

You definitely used a program because I see a bunch of warping haha. KZfaq has a built in stabilizer that you can apply after you've uploaded a video, which works to some extent

Terere was reaping to prevent Cláudio from moving and he was warned. Rules are rules, equal for everybody. If Cláudio could have reaped, he'd won the match earlier if you notice.

Poxa o mestre Tererê deu mole, deixou o pé pra dentro, mas acontece. Mas percebi q o Muzio (árbitro), tava namorando o peh do tererê um tempão. E o Muzio agiu conforme as regras. Por mais q o Tererê tenha uma experiência absurda. Mas era melhor intervir do eles se machucarem.

Only most brown and black belt fights, in my opinion. Lower belts, white through purple are the best to watch but belts above that the fights are very cagey and little happens, not always but quite often that is the case.

look up Rilion Gracie on youtube. It's from the old days when reaping was legal and guys did it to crank the knee. He has a great one where he purposely reaps the knee and screws the guys leg. Look it up.

How sad it is to see one of the greatest fighters of all times changing completely his gameplan.As we used to watch Terere fights until 2005, that he was the happy guy, that couldn't be sweeped, had a flexible game and outstandings sweeps, and now he is just like any other normal black belt, with a static and apprehensive game plan. He doesn't looks like terere anymore because Terere always had a smile on his face. That is the drug effects

I agree in banning the position for the lower belts but pros like Terere, Calasans and so on can certainly deal with knee reaping.

Terere crossed his leg over the arm, I'm not very sure but last time I read about the reaping leg rule, if it is over the arm there is no danger, in my opinion Muzio (ref) messed up big time. anybody else know if this is true?
