Two years ago, varthur lake was probably not on any Birdwatcher's mind. This year it's probably one of the best habitats in and around Bangalore, I desperately hope NGT preserves the lake from sewage contamination and soup bowl development. Birds in video:
1) Black capped kingfisher: A total surpirse. Not too much is known about their migrating populations. A good sighting for Bangalore.
2) Tree pipit
3) A common redshank: Their call is very beautiful, I couldn't record it.
4) A red munia, there are plenty of these birds in Varthur.
