In this clip we talk to Lanny Smith about starting Active Faith and getting it going selling only wrist bands. The racism he had to deal with being a black ceo. Then opening Actively Black and how he hid himself from the customers to continue to sell.

It’s sad that we have to move like this sometimes. Reminds me of the movie with Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie. True story based on black banker’s using a white man to front as the owner to get around redlining. Even in 2023 I don’t drive my nice vehicle to work because of stuff like this. Great testimony!

Yep. Or movies such as "Sorry to Bother You," where unless you adopt a certain voice tone & accent, you won't get the same level of respect or trust as your Caucasian counterparts, no matter if you're the best salesperson or not.

Once I discovered the brand I told everyone I knew . Had one person spend 1,000 on the website. It is high quality items and I support the brand as well. I've purchased items . The products are high quality ! I love what the brand stands for which is what got my support as well. I can not believe to this day, black people of all economic background face discrimination . I am stopped in stores all of the time by men that ask me about my Actively Black purse. I carry that thing like it's a Louis Vuitton bag. In fact I carry it more than my LV. I have an authentic LV bag and it has been sitting in the closet ever since I go try A B purse. Oh! the customer service is 5 star, from the tine I purchased until I received my items , I receive follow up emails .

@@sakarisgems7732 exactly it’s “history”. I believe it’s prudent to be aware of the past but not live there as both his statement and your statement would suggest you are doing. I don’t claim to be a historian and I typically don’t speak in absolute terms unless it’s an absolute truth e.g. God is over all things (that’s how we fall into the hole of mass inaccurate stereotypes). What I am proficient at is reading and comprehending definitions while also applying them to situations both past and present which leads me back to my original statement. As I hope you are aware, but am glad to enlighten you on if you are not, the actions, beliefs, and behaviors of some can not and should not be misinterpreted or somehow representative of the actions, beliefs, and behaviors of all. To end, and I say this will all sincerity, I pray God blessed you and yours with peace and prosperity; take care!

@Spoiler Alert! I have trouble believing you, saying you understand when you are actively dismissive of the entire video. This owner's experience is STILL happening, not just an experience of his past. These folks calling themselves 'Christians' are STILL discriminating against Black owned businesses.
@SpoileralertGMA47
@SpoileralertGMA47 Жыл бұрын
@@broquietstorm1266 1) just because you disagree with someone on a part of their position doesn’t mean you are “dismissive” of the entirety of their position. 2) understanding one’s perspective does not mean you necessarily agree or disagree, these words are not commonly considered synonymous. I’m a definitions man so I stand by my statement. I think there are evangelical Christians who are racist (but if you boil it down being racist is fundamentally opposite of Christianity, so can they really call themselves Christian’s? But that’s a whole other conversation) but I don’t believe that evangelical Christians are racist. 3) Being a Christian myself I can attest to the fact that we are not all racist. 4) by definition I believe you would be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn’t discriminate (considering that discrimination goes both for and against something). When I discriminate it is for something versus against it so maybe that makes it better (but I can’t really agree with that either). For example, I know for a fact I will be buying Creed 3 if for no other reason than it was Directed by Michael B. Jordan a.k.a. someone who looks like me and because of that I want him to win. Call it what you want but don’t forget to add that that way of thinking is discriminatory. I’ll leave you with this: I have no ill will towards you and I thank you for your engagement; I pray that your will aligns with God’s will and God bless you on your future endeavors! Take care
