@@profscarlett yes, and it's the owner who was out there allowing the white kid's outfit and not the black kid's, not the manager, who had nothing to do with it. did you not even watch the video? or are you maybe a kid who doesn't know how employment works, and thinks managers are allowed to overrule their boss's decisions? that's not how it works. the moment the manager saw that it was the owner who turned away the black kid, there was literally *nothing* the manager could do. in fact, he was fired right from that moment, no matter what he did. if he allowed them in he'd be fired, and if he didn't allow them in he'd be fired.

I half felt sorry for the guy in the video in the beginning but at some point you see that he realises how unjust the situation is. He had a chance to rise above and call out his boss for discrimination. Maybe he was struggling and needed his job but he chose his job over morality and that’s why he’s fired. If you allow people to get away with discrimination when you have the chance to stop it, you’re part of the problem. I hope the guy learns and becomes a better person.

@@EddyBMultimedia Everybody who's a decent person here feels bad for the child, that's why people want the one who was actually responsible fired. The manager would've probably let the child in had his boss not told them to leave. If you're satisfied with the manager being fired you've fallen in the trap. He became the scapegoat for the actions of the boss, and he gets away unscathed. He ruined a 9-year old child's day, and let someone else take the fall for him. This entire restaurant chain should just shut down judging by their repeated racist offenses. I feel bad for the mother, who had to deal with her child being discriminated. I feel bad for the child, who has had to deal with this at such a young age. And yes, I feel bad for the manager. You can tell he didn't agree with what his boss made him do while his boss scurried away as to not be on camera. Should he have stood up for them? If possible, yes, but for all we know he may have really needed that job. That boss can go rot in jail for all I care. Assuming people who feel bad for the manager are white is dumb. What, because POC can't feel sympathy for white skinned humans? I'm not white, I've had to deal with racism, and I hate racists, as many people do, which is why I would feel bad if someone who doesn't necessarily deserve it gets labeled with such a disgusting label.

High-end restaurants will have them create a better ambiance. Especially if it's a place to celebrate special occasions. In casual diners, if u dress up too nice, ppl gonna stare or talk. For such reasons, high-end places are preferable since they have dress code. It is their business, their policy. This diner did not however enforce it in a fair manner.

I don't believe that the manager was guilty of it; as a matter of fact, he sounded sincere, just doing what his cowardly boss told him to do in his stead. However, I also believe that the manager should have said "no" to his boss; you have the right to say "no" to your employer if you don't feel comfortable in doing what you're being asked to do. I feel like he was a "yes man." People need to stand up for themselves and stop being pushed around by their employers. No need to be rude about it, just politely decline. Of course, not everyone would like that, and they might even fire you, but usually they're understanding. Which is also a huge red flag to other employees that see their coworkers get fired for declining to do something.
