I’m a 5th generation Japanese American and I come from a family of laborers (plantation workers, farmers, and fishermen) so unlike the 95% of Japanese who are very fair complected…the brown in my profile picture is as light as I get, but when I go fishing or surfing a lot, I get really dark…people would call me “papa’a”, the Hawaiian word for “burnt”, and it was always in the form of a compliment. The reason is that Native Hawaiians are very melanin wealthy..so most people in Hawai’i see dark skin as beautiful, and I love that about my home state. In fact, I grew up with a friend who’s African American and he was born and raised here. Well he moved to Texas 20 years ago and came home last summer on holiday and brought 3 of his friends with him, all of them are African American…they all couldn’t believe how different it is here compared to their home state. So I hope you get to come here one day, and I hope I get to go to 🇿🇦 one day!🤞🏽

I concur 100%. I’m glad that the world is slowly seeing just how beautiful African women are, and I don’t just mean from Africa, I mean women who have African blood.
